As I bought it Drove it home from the Isle of Wight last January. Lowered it Put some alloys on it Just completed a 1500 engine swap from the original 803cc. Straight swap from a Triumph Spitfire. Nice! ;D Currently sorting some much needed disc brakes for it.

I like it!! although i must say i preferred it lowered on the standard rims - the alloys look a bit out of place, to me at least!

I'd say ditto about the alloys. I presume its 3.75" PCD so wheel choice is going to be a bit limited. But hey, if you like them, then thats how you roll.
I do like these cars. Don't see many given the treatment. Nice leftfield choice.

Yup, I did like the steelies with trim rings but cripes - must zip along quite nicely with a 1500 in it! ;D
And having driven one with a mere 948 in it, I can understand the need for better stoppers! It looks great. Not a 'normal' car to mod and all the better for it.

Nice one!
Will be interesting to hear how you get on with the brakes. Spitfire stuff is supposed to fit isn't it?

Thats rates highly on the acerometer. It would completely trip out the acerometer rolling on some slots.

It would completely trip out the acerometer rolling on some slots. like this one? and this one Thanks for the comments. I know what you mean about the MGF alloys. I didn't like them at first but they've grown on me. The 1500 makes a huge difference. I'm able to keep up with small hatchbacks now ;D As for the brakes, I have some Spitfire items but they're not a straight swap. The red oxide one above is running Spitfire discs. He lives by me. I'll have a word.

I love that, inlcluding the current wheels. I think the only wheels i'd swap to are some 15" steels, maybe MGF spare wheels?

thought about painting the wheels? No, but that's not a bad idea! what kinda weight are these compared to a spit? There's not much to either car. They're probably about the same. My early '54 is the lightest I'm told. Again, another cracking plan! This forum is awesome! I retained the original box for simplicity. The Spitfire box requires tunnel mods which I'm reluctant to do at the moment. I think I'll have to do it though as the Standard clutch isn't really man enough for the job.

A very cool car. I think I preferred the steels to, but I still love the fact that who bolted a set of MGF rims on. The great thing about wheels is you can always swap them back and both looks are worth rockin' for a while.
There's a guy who works at Burnham Autos with a 1500 Dolly motor in his...I'm not sure what brakes he's running.
