Good to meet you too dude, & the many others I had the pleasure of meeting tonight - t'was indeed a night of extreme awesomeness ;D Awesome Rides, beer, chatter, chili&chips, WIN! Many congratulations to all the winners (all the nominees in fact) - very well deserved Also special thanks to KevFromWales for the rimz - hope you had a good journey home mate. Oh & thanks to my mate Timmy for the lend of his Toyota somethingorother so I could actually make it! Strange feeling driving in a car that you know will definitely get you to your destination without exploding or trying to put you in a hedge... I *heart* Retro Rides - roll on the next one! Mr HW - ur a legend. HC.

Indeed. An absolutely excellent evening with superb company. Thanks to Bruce for the wheel delivery and to PaulH for the surprise late birthday present and to Oldbus for the refreshment! As some/many of those there might have seen I was particularly chuffed to get the Herald there and apologies to anyone I bored the pants of jabbering away about it!

Bruce and I have just got back to Area 52 after a slightly tense, snow filled journey along the M4! Crashing here by the warmth of the bbq! Cheers all for a great night

Fantastic evening well worth the many hours without sleep on another tat collecting/distributing trip - culminating in an evening with a loony group of fellow petrol heads. Congrat's to all the winners - many thanks to all those who voted the transporter/track car most anticipated - no pressure then! (as HW said). Determined not to let anyone down and they'll both be there...... I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and greeting everyone I bored the pants off - apologies but was on a sleep deprived high and just got into it..... Dez - thanks for the chat - truelly nice bloke who puts his skills up for all to see/learn Brian - most needed cup of tea in my history I do believe KevFromWales - for the infectious enthusiasm and outright lunacy that is you TonyBMW - excellent to meet you fella - thanks for the tips Becky (Bens' lady) - get enrolled and get the thread started on the Fiesta - good luck with a truelly excellent purchase RMad - thanks for bodging the alternator/fan belt and making it fella - good to see you. EddBMX Dude - the look on your face as I unloaded the boxes was worth it fella - good luck and put 'em to good use. Everyone who made it - if I slurred on incessantly and looked spaced I apologise, was truelly dead on my feet. I know I spoke to a lot more of you - and missed even more - apologies all round. Mojo once again boosted and extra layers ready for this evenings onslaught (may need to sleep a bit first though ). John

I've got a few thank yous as well.. Absolutely everyone who was there, who I said hi to but didn't get a chance to catch up with, those I actually caught up with, new people I met.. But a couple special ones must go to gtvsaviour/John. Wonderful to meet you and thank you for helping Becky get really involved in the evening. She had a great time and it was people like you getting her into the swing of it rather than being a nervous 'plus 1' that made it that much more enjoyable for us both. Shovel (sorry, I've forgotten your real name..) for the same reason as above but also in providing light whilst I swapped wheels. Though I must say that was a very cunning sales tactic ;D KevFromWales and Count Pandamonium for being absolute gents when it comes to three way trading. Nice to meet you, Alan. And good to see you again, Kev Seth. Purely because you actually went on and did what I wanted to do to my Herald. I'm very jealous. The MX5 engine looks spot on in the Triumph engine bay. Lastly.. to all those people that knew who I was and said hello as I stood there confused because I didn't have a scooby who you were! Must be the power of the Interwebz ;D

Ah nuts... Annoyed with myself for not meeting more people, but more than happy with seeing old friends and having a rather spesh evening I'm not sure where I should say this either, but here will do Dez (cheers)... Thank you to everybody that voted the Land Rover car of the year. I am deeply flattered you think the work of my mate Steve is worthy of such a prize, for once I was genuinely word struck on the stage. Like I said I just bought it... Did some work and drive it everywhere ;D Really will try to spend more time on here than I have been in the last year or so, give something back to the community. Oh and the Volvo presence last night really spurred me on too Awesome night folks, thanks for making it that way

T'was an awesome night to meet new folk and old friends alike. I must thank oldbus for bringing my unobtanium clutch over from the fatherland (thank you!), Kevfromwales for supplying my wheel addiction again (thank you!), tonybmw for bringing my rear panel down (and for being a genius, thank you!), to retromat for helping warm up the wart and to everyone I met for chatting to me and preventing me taking photos ;D I did take a few- haven't looked at them yet! averaged approx 28mpg on the round trip, with a frozen carb driving on choke half way and some err, outside lane fun on the way home (whats 140kmh? ). awesome times

whats 140kmh? 86.994mph!!!!! I just LOVED the way that your Wartburg totally upstaged the E-Type that followed you out. I've already said my piece on my own pic thread, but I will add something KFW and I were discussing in the van on the way home (and again that Bruce and I spoke about on the phone today). I've never known a community like RR. Ever. It doesn't matter how much of a ballache life gets, it doesn't matter how dim the ol' Mojo gets at times....just a few hours in the company of ALL of you guys is all that's needed to invigorate and inspire. You make a happy man very old. Or something. ;D

excellent night indeed - I'm on my little brother's PC as mine has rewarded it's recent overuse by breaking rather badly (must pm rysz for some advice!)
first off, great to see the usual suspects, J69 for resurfacing after far too long, big daddy damaged for road trip company and some great custom made roadtrip cd's, mad props to akku and bruce for sorting my gearbox out, ben for the excellent (and VERY heavy wheels!) - anybody who bought me a brew, oldbus aqnd gtvsaviour for relaying volvo bits from lankytim, tonybmw and graham (?) for most dedicated huge roadtrip mileage, dugong for his determination to get the N/W massive down - and anyone else who I've forgotten
some hillarious pics of me unloading the pop bodyshell, on my own, at 6.00am this morning, in a snowdrift will be forthcoming!
bring on the summer slam I reccon - are going to have a retro cruise out from the ace somewhere then??
- kfw
