the next car did line up whilst waiting for the other car to finish. drivers also got a quick brief outside the track area but with such little space it couldn't have been run any quicker.
the biggest waits where due to people not realising they were supposed to be on track.

I enjoyed the track time - however I did think the tight turn at the end of the back straight was a bit extreme - and the level and camber change (combined with a huge section of track just jutting out) wasnt very friendly to the lower cars that ran, I almost smashed my exhaust clean off on that section. Would have been better if you made the turn right and following the track around the sweeping section and then back onto the main circuit?
Otherwise it was good fun and well run!

THere was high demand for this last year and i think it is safe to say that more people want to have a go this year. with this in mind a sat track opening for RR members only?!? or campers?!? may be a good idea. In addition what about night / evening track action. That could be really really cool. Either way if my car goes this year that will be another car for the track!!!

I was suprised how quick my 1600 was on the track for what was a standard car bar the exhaust. Shall be there regardless of how it runs, hopefully the same as last year so I can compare how much faster the mk5 Cortina is with a 2.0 instead of the 1600. I shall be doing more runs this time though and may bring other wheels with me as they were a bit worn to say the least afterwards!!! enjoyed the good mix of cars on the track and the tyre smoke of nightmares estate was superb!! even thinkng of camping this year, If the wife lets me!!

The track was ace last year! The 1st proper time I ever tried to skid my mates e30! ;D This year I'm deffently having more than one go in my car and my mates rwd (if he makes his mind up as what to buy!) I also think it would be a good idea to have the track open on a saturday aswell. Depending on the numbers, you could have single price, open pit (sort of) layout, or if theres quite a few, then the same layout as sunday.

I love the idea of two days of track fun, but it might be asking a bit much from the support people. But I'll raise my hand now as a helper for both days

We had planned to make the show 2 days, 1 for track and one for show + track. But not this year ... this year we're spending our efforts getting some Special cars there and the show is going to be MUCH larger than last year. We've been live with the site for less than a week and have 100 club cars already booked in!

HTW, who could I talk to about possibly allowing me to run a non-road legal but MSA log-booked car?

If I still have it, would my Escort be good to go out? It's a '97, but it's a proper track car.

If I still have it, would my Escort be good to go out? It's a '97, but it's a proper track car. Chris Namless took his 9-5 round Chris, can't imagine the age of the car would be a problem. I really enjoyed the track action, and the berm was a great place to spectate from. I would definitely do it again, whatever I'm driving then. Once again, I'd like to thank the mysterious person or persons who made it possible for me to drive the Volvo on track despite my utter ignorance ;D

Was just thinking, as people are making various oddities to ride around the site on, what about some fun on the Saturday eve and doing a time trial for the various toys people will bring along? Maybe just take up the near end of the circuit with all the bends in it and keep it casual & laid back?
I know a few people will be bringing some fun stuff and this would be a great way to show their efforts off? Suppose it depends on whether Haynes will be happy with people being on track driving a car made from scrap parts at 3 mph without requiring liablity insurance etc.

i should have less tire smoke this year but be a bit quicker round the track as i'll be running 10x17's on the car with M/T street ET's and not the silly little plastic tires i had last year which were still legal right up till i took the car off the road even after doing this at the nasc nationals
oh i should also have a couple of hundred more horse power as well ;D but i'm up for a laugh and the track was great fun last year even if it was like driving on marbles ;D ;D

Yeah, I though the track was ac - apart from I didn't know I needed to bring along my docs. As a reminder, what do I need to bring to allow me to trow the mighty power of the 1256 round the track?

I didnt go on track last year but I seem to remember it being MOT, Driving License and a helmet if youve got one. I will be going on track this year, cant wait! ;D

I'm not sure what the deal is with helmets, whether they need to be FIA approved or whatever, but there are some cheap-ass lids in LIDL at the moment (£20 open or £40 for full-face jobbies) - they feel pretty heavy, and they deffo look the part - considering the worst you're likely to do on the Haynes track is slide backwards into the fence I'd think they're more than adequate.

I've had a thought. Given last year went very well, and in the last run a few of us with some of the faster times were battling for top spot, how about a little bonus run at the end to keep the crowd there. So what I'm thinking is, everybody does their runs like normal, and times are NOT released - since Haynes says no timing and it just makes people push too hard. Then once all the normal booked runs are done. The top 6 drivers are called back in and given 1 last run (for free?) to see if they can improve their time or call it a shoot out and everyone sets a new time, winner takes all or something. Might even aid in keeping people around the show till the end of the day? Thoughts?

I like the plan, but i'm sure it would count as 'encouraging competition' which i don't think they would like...
If it can be done that would be awesome!
