After being on the scout for a new car I came across this... I am now in love with it and wish to express my new found love for the super minx ;D there actually seem to be very few photos of any that are modified though which is a bit of a shame as they seem to lend themselves very nicely to a bit of a drop and some nice wheels

I very much fancied a Super Minx Estate a couple of years ago. Went to look at one not far away that had been garaged for years but it was rotten and I didn't want another project. Has that one on slots come your way then? You're right that there are few modified. '60s Rootes cars in general seem to miss the boat a bit.

Unfortunately I don't think funds will stretch to buying the estate at the moment which is a shame as I think it looks awesome. Not sure if the insurance would be great either as being 19 seems to automatically label me as a screwdriver yielding, car thief, boy-racer type so everything costs the eath

I got this on watch too, got a couple of classic quotes today quite reasonable, but I think SWMBO will vito the purchase.....
Really taken by some of the obvious US influences, it does lend itself to some scaled-down custom car style mods. some nicely trimmed bench seats and a bit of pinstriping would be my priorities!

Early Super Minxes with the reverse pillar rear screen are gorgeous, always seem pretty good value compared to their BMC counterparts.
BTW those shells are just plain olf Minxes.

A Super Minx wagon has been very high on my 'list' for years. That black one looks lovely.

I traded my Super minx collumn change-auto for a Triumph... worst thing I ever did. If you ever spot a red & white super minx with the registration ending in COD please let me know..I'm desperate for it back

The estates are pretty rare if memory serves me. My friends dad had one when I was a kid

Here's a couple of snaps I've got No rear ends unfortunately devilish. I planned a full Watson paint job if I'd got one Snigger Vogue would be rarer than a Superminx

Great looking car, its a good thing I'm not in the UK otherwise I couldn't stop myself - actually stuggling to stop myself convincing a mate to go collect it! As for different panels, actually not so much different, rear doors (though very similar to the post 65 Squared off Superminx), roof and boot lid. The rear fin and panels below it etc is as far as I can tell identical so its only a few bits. Bet you could convert a later saloon to estate without much trouble actually............*goes to look at even more stupid ideas for the one sat in the barn......*

I roof chopped a Super minx estate in the early 80's also slamming it in the weeds so low that when you drove over a manhole cover on a slightly cambered road the front crossmember would scrape.......good ole days ........great cars that drive really well....
