well I went looking for A52 and got lost has anyone got a postcode? Sorry but Bruce(Mystery Machine) needs to be the one giving out the info on where it is, as he needs to maintain knowledge of who has the info etc I'd PM him clearly stating on the PM header "Request for A52 play day attendance / directions" so he can see it in the load of PMs he gets. If you have that already but still can't find it, call or text him Yep, for reasons of security and not making the place a free-for-all, everyone must go through Bruce. We all got directions and stuff directly from him on our first visit and let him know out of courtesy when we'll be joining him there That was a great weekend ;D I went to bed about 9 last night as I was shattered but thoroughly enjoyed playing (2 litre) Volvos and making a thermostat housing for Kev's pizza delivery golf with Spiny (Phil, as an aside, we all decided that you MUST stay for a night some time soon). My thanks go mostly to Kev who tolerated my many Iveco questions and to Bruce who's generosity I'm incredibly grateful for, though thankfully I didn't need to take him up on his offer

hi guys, was an awesome weekend, really cheered me up even though I could only stay until Saturday daytine. Sorry for being the guy that kept wondering around saying "why don't you do it like this??" I do that sometimes despite being an idiot Speaking of which, how well did the home made thermostat housing work? Leak free?

Speaking of which, how well did the home made thermostat housing work? Leak free? The housing itself was leak free, but the seal to the head didn't take first time, partly because the bolts were too long. Rich took it off, I filed a small lump of chemical metal off the new housing's gasket flange, and we refitted it with lashings of instant gasket and some shorter aircraft-spec (probably titanium) bolts. It didn't leak after that. Rich got it idling better too by cleaning the jets in the carb - repeatedly rev it up then strangle it with a towel to pull the curse word out of the jets.

Hi Will, Sorry, I was unable to respond during the weekend due to being at the unit. If you PM me in future in advance of a play weekend I'll send you the details (postcode and my number). As the others have said, it's more a security thing than any kind of elitist method of keeping others away (far from it...even moderators are allowed to come along ) It was a cracking weekend. Lots & lots acheived although some 'issues' to hopefully be dealt with at the next play weekend. Sorry to Dave for losing 300cc somewhere over the weekend. It was great to see everything going on Saturday afternoon....the Volvo being stripped by Dave, Tim, James etc...the project car causing lots of head scratching for Andy, Adam, Dan and myself, Kev's Golf getting a new custom Bengineered 'stat housing made by Ben, Mark, Phil and anyone else to hand, the car also got a tune-up courtesy of Rich, Ash's 'more than a monster' 300ZX receiving new brakes. When I say brakes.....I mean discs fit for a Boeing and 8 pot calipers to match!! There was also some arch rolling, smashing up of the Volvo, front splitter fitting and other things going on. It was so busy I didn't even get chance to snag a single photo! Sorry guys. One of my current gauges of how good a weekend it was: how black is the water during my Sunday night shower. This weekends shower saw a LOT of black dirty water coming off. Excellent! There were so many laughs, I think most people didn't stop laughing all weekend. A good share of booze drunk and some lovely food. Thanks Dan for the BBQ pork steak burgers on Friday night...and Tim for discovering that Sainsburys did 'create your own and we'll heat it' Pizza's for £4.00!! Dangerous new territory. I don't think Kev will be going hungry for a few days yet.... ;D Thanks again everyone, another epic weekend in the bag. Looking forward to the next one already

it's been to long since i visited Area52, next playday date looks good on my calendar, and the Corolla needs to get some mileage under it's belt. How easy is it to get Ron98 (or higher) fuel in the UK? (it's near on impossible overhere!).

97 RON is widely available - this is what the majority of super unleaded is (BP Ultimate, Esso Supreme, Texaco, Total etc). The internet says that Shell V-power is 99RON in the UK, and Tesco Super is also 99 RON.
Looking forward to the next playday - will either be there all weekend, or maybe from Saturday morning, depending on what else is happening.

....and the Corolla needs to get some mileage under it's belt. This makes me very excited. You have to come over now....once car I am dying to see.... ;D How easy is it to get Ron98 (or higher) fuel in the UK? (it's near on impossible overhere!). 98 is dead easy to find over here. Even 99 from some people I believe (Tesco believe it or not!). You've made my day Thomas. Hope you do make it over. ;D [edit] beaten to it by James [/edit]

yeah, v-power and stuff is something which is sold as 95 overhere, i've seen what they do to it (1 little cup of additive on a WHOLE tank), so i'm not believing in that stuff, but i'll see. I WILL make it, but sadly i can't bring anything over, because i have major problems with the rear wheels catching the arches allready, let alone with a boot full of beer, so that will be for another time. I'll give John a ring soon, and see if he wants to join
