The deadline thing I know all too well and absolutely refuse to have a fixed deadline for my fun car now.. The picture of your dismayed face is fantastic though Wish I could have stayed for more than one night. Early night (only 2ish ) and away very early in the morning wasn't ideal but glad I could make it to see everyone and have a kebab!

Hi, not wanting to bump the thread or anything but when will the next "playweekend" take place?
Since I would love to experience Area52 for myself but I'm kinda new here and I'll only be in the country for 3 months.. thanks!

Bruce (Mystery Machine) mentioned something about mid-September-ish. As Speedy says, there will undoubtedly be updates before then.

It is a bit, isn't it. So let's have a backlog-clearing MEGADUMP ;D April: VIP's Honda sitting pretty on Celica Supra Iron Crosses. More on this later... Bacon cake. Cake with bacon in/on/around, sweetened with treacle, marshmallow and just about everything else you could imagine. It's much tastier than it sounds or looks... April's new plaything: a shrinker-stretcher. I think just about everyone had a go at shrinking, stretching... ...and bead-rolling a bit of metal. Deeply satisfying to turn a fairly flimsy bit of metal into something with strength and structure using these. The main event: the arrival of Mystery Machine's spares Lotus. This thing had been at the end of someone's garden for 20-odd years. Not pictured: chassis corrosion to put the Titanic to shame. It does have a plethora of awesome and useful bits, put together by an engineer-type with a real eye for detail Oh yeah, and a... RobinJI's Passat lowered on coil-overs. Now: a bit of a dilemma. MantaPhil, Hardcore and ColonElk travelled down in the Easy Start-snorting Transit Beavertail of Doom in order to transport the Lotus. Hardcore has a load of interior bits to transport back home, but no space in the cab, and no way they could just go on the back. Solution: buy a car, fill with interior, stick on the back of the truck. A £50 K10 Micra was procured from Phuq ("I think I still have a Nissan Micra somewhere..."), and then it all just went a bit silly really ;D

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

Everyone ready for the next exciting installment? Ok... June:Didn't go. July: Camera wasn't working August:No play weekend. I spoil you people... ;D September:Behold, The Volvo ;D Chatting and that. Up in the air for inspection. Saturday, a Day of Doing Stuff: Well '80s. Awesome Corner at Area 52. Jrevillug's Clam Crusader. Not pictured: crusty bits. Many of these were drunk. Just in case you forgot where we were, like. As part of the Doing Stuff, James welds up brackets to hang up some ramps. Also very '80s (in design if not date of manufacture, before anyone points out the K-plate on the BX....)Mark and Phil give the snug a well-needed clean. This came out of the carpet (Reminiscent of Friday night after those kebabs anyone? ;D Sorry...) Two wildly different definitions of the word retro... "Don't look into the light" "But it's so preeeeeetty..." (Mark welding up a slide hammer for a little fine adjustment of his front subframe) Jon doing Proper Engineering. You can tell from the Engineering Biro behind the ear. "Hmmm..." Sunday: Life-giving brew, served up on the bonnet of a mostly-straight Volvo. James does some electrickery on the soon-to-be tea bell. Also it rained. Nom. The next few photos are of my Peugeot covered in custard. You may be wondering why. You would be right to wonder that. In short, we found a part-used powder fire extinguisher with a Schrader valve. I emptied the remaining powder out and then for reasons of curse word and giggles, needed something more entertaining than water to fill it. Custard is entertaining. And let's face it, who'd be stupid enough to let you spray their car with a fire extinguisher full of custard? ;D FIN. Full albums: AprilMaySeptember
