Really glad you came back mate. RR needs the good guys to stick around. So to the important stuff... love the new motor! Being a bit ignorant of all things tin and snail-like, how come you sold the red one and got this one? I know this one is mega low (and theerefore mega cool!) but was there any reason why you didn't want to slam the red 'un? Or are there other considerations between the two? Or are you just a fickle b*gger? ;D

What happened was......Sidewinder bought this one a couple of weeks after I bought the red one. Now he's already the owner of a pretty tasty road-legal race-spec 2CV, and after running this one round for a few weeks he realised that owning two slammed Snails was a bit OTT.....and was hankering after some comfort. It seemed a bit crazy to start destroying what was actually a really nice car by slamming it, so I swapped the red Special for this one. Condition-wise they are broadly similar, whilst this one's not on a galvanised chassis it IS only four years since it was rebuilt onto a new one. And mechanically it's in about the same condition. All the lowering's been done properly so it tracks and steers just like a stock one....and the turned arms mean that there's plenty of suspension travel (well there would be if the front towing eyes didn't rip chunks out of the tarmac).

slamboo should be on a galvy chassis? Perhaps it is......I was under the impression that it wasn't, and so was Jon C. Russ had painted it so it's hard to tell......so if it is, it's a double bonus. ;D

Welcome back.
Does this 2cv 'fit' you better than the red one - it not being such a tidy example, meaning you can do what you like with it?

Welcome back. Does this 2cv 'fit' you better than the red one - it not being such a tidy example, meaning you can do what you like with it? Not really.....in so much as what I really want to do is buy an Ami 6/8....but this will do me just fine until then. It was just easier to spend half a day swapping wheels/tyres/doors, fitting a new roof and blowing over the bottom half with a couple of rattle-cans on this and then just swap cars than it would have been to spend the weekend getting dirty. Besides the red one was too nice to start chopping about IMHO. TBH it'll probably be punted on come August time and the money put into the Ami Fund, so I won't be spending a lot of time/money on it.

Really glad you came back mate. RR needs the good guys to stick around. Ditto A cool car Can I suggest a "shopping list" down the door under the Bamboo decals? You know, like, "Grass", "Rockery", "Herbacious Border", "Fence" ;D

Fair enough - makes sense. Looking forward to the Ami ;D James Oh, and LOL @ _Seth.

Thought I recognised this car. It was present when a bottle of gin changed hands for a tube bender What happened then, what did I miss? Stomp off in a huff or something? Are you Brian?

Thought I recognised this car. It was present when a bottle of gin changed hands for a tube bender What happened then, what did I miss? Stomp off in a huff or something? Are you Brian? Gin sounds like Shedspeed. ;D Mountain-Molehill Syndrome. I'd mistaken RR for a way of life, rather than an internet forum. Some kn*bhead (not an RR member anymore, either) rubbed me the wrong way, I walked in a petulant huff. Had a week to think about it, which gave me a bit of perspective....back I came. Having said that, I won't be getting quite so caught up in it all from now on. Nothing to prove anymore. Which is how it should be. Thanks for the welcome back messages..... ;Dartistformerlyknownasbriandamaged ;D
