My Grandfather bought one which my Dad inherited which was passed down to me, I drove it for a couple of years until it failed the MOT badly on corrosion, (looked mint outside and in), was probably about 30 years old at the time. She did 115 to the scrapyard. I think I still have all the books somewhere if you end up buying one. What 'books'? I have my owners manual* *really helpful in explaining how/why the headlamp bulbs come on 1/2 power c/w sidelights¢ ¢pointless OVIMORJust got around to digging these out of the darkest recesses of the attic;

Given that the 3S-FE was an option on these, does that mean that its cousin the 3S-GE will fit in?
Interested as I may have a spare 173bhp MR2 engine left over from my latest project and I am looking for a good retro spacious daily.....

Yes, if you find one with a 3S-FE, the GE will go straight in. Not in a 1.6 4A-FE version though, enginemounts are different on the car, so that version will need some welding on the enginemounts

There's a 2l sedan for sale in Denmark, i'm quite tempted by it, as it's the perfect base for my dream btcc replica build. Most of the 2l cars in the Netherlands are liftbacks,sadly.

This one is my dads, a 1.6 XLi Impact/Exiv, don't know for sure, it says impact on the bootlid, but an impact should have a factory sliding roof, this one has aircon instead, but it does have central locking and powersteering and the more luxurious interior with velours everywhere Still going strong after 350.000 km Bought one for spares a couple of months ago, 100 euro, i couldn't let it go to the scrappers for that money. Gave up a lot of usefull parts to keep my dads running for a while Strange thing though, it came with a foldable rear bench! Never seen that before on a 4 door sedan.

My '4 door sedan[bloody Yanks!!]' has rear backs that flip forward... but only 2/3 'flip' = the base of the seat is fixed so not FLAT..
Also a very neat 'centre armrest' which our Granddaughter uses to keep any other 'rear occupant' away... lol
Do you have any of the 'special anniversary' Carina in the NL?

Plus I have some Rota 4 studs that will bolt right up to the 4 stud. Also liftback is what I need for the load space.

OVIMORI think the Exiv and Impact where runout models, which came fully loaded. Exiv got aircon, Impact got the sliding roof. Both had powersteering, the velours interior and central locking. Never seen the 2/3 flip rear seats before. It's a lot of work to get them to fit the fixed version, so i won't bother, but it'd be a nice addition Yes, if you find one with a 3S-FE, the GE will go straight in. Gearbox is different on the 2L as well, not sure about the driveshafts and how they fit the gearboxes. I think the 2L driveshafts will go in the hubs.

heyy..Doc m8 When I use the 2/3 I'm meaning the seats only tip forward for 2 thirds of their 'hinged' motion because the rear lower seat squab/base is fixed in position. Manufacturers will tend (with full hatchbacks) to enable the rear base to tip up and the backs to go down = Full Flat boot floor. This doesn't happen in the Booted Sedan... OVIMOR

Yes, i know what you mean, but i have never even seen the rear sets being able to be tipped forwards on a booted sedan before! My dads car just has fixed rear seats.

I thought it's about time to show the world my old 91 estate which I bought for £220 in 2005 with a cracked screen and short mot, as a banger for a few months while I wondered what to do with my car at the time, a very tired Amazon. Well the Toyota just worked so well, really surprising me with the engines lively character, I sold the Volvo on and never looked back. Although I'd love a 60's jalopy again.. The Carina is fine still, all things considered - 255,000 miles, used for everything, all the time - and still manages to look ok on original paint with the odd repair. I love it and hope keep it going for a long time yet - these cars seem irreplaceable after a while, the engineering quality is amazing really.

Oof! Those roofbars will get you waves of envy, from estates over on the Montego OC site lol Are you on a carb or EFi? *oops - read your other post in 'mileages'. Looks like mine [@89k] still has the cellophane on I imagine you are up around Vlovo acreage, in the back? Noice Read through your MOT history. Have you had springs & dampers? Mine needed dampers [Mick's Garage, Ireland stock] as it was like a rubber boat when I bought it :/ OVIMOR
