Nice.
I don't suppose it matters really but 3.0 with L trim is quite rare.
It could, possibly, be ex-police being white, manual, 3.0, lowish trim level and vinyl roof/sunhatch (any signs of a previous blue light fitting or extra speedo?)
What are the plans
John

very likely ex police as the L spec was only avl with 2.0 & 2.5 eng's

theres more to life than mpg & to much power is just enough.

Could always be a transplant? Not sure if the fan cowl looks original or not....My first car was an early K plate 2.0l V4 consul in maroon....Total povo spec but loved it to bits.......

That, my friend is one tip top Granada... It's great to see these as so many have rusted away or found their way on to the banger track... The late model 'L' (R or S reg') was available with the 3-litre unit as Ford knew the Mk2 was on its way so they pretty much shoved all engines in all spec's hence the Granada Ghia Coupe with a 2-litre Pinto engine...!!! I do hope you keep this car on the road for many years to come these are so rare it hurts (especially with this spec'/engine combo)...

thanks for all your interest!Plans at the minute are to just poke about in it(once it's going ) until the MOT runs out, at which point it'll need some tlc and may undergo some transformation.Decent suspension, 5 spd and and fair wack of welding!hopefully get some shows in first if i can.managed to get it cough a bit more today, so possibly winning! as far as the police bit goes, its quite likely it was.no reall tel tale signs apart from the vynal and sunroof. theres a switch inside that doesn't seem to do anything, and a little light that doesn't seem to do anything?either way, i love it! ;D

Nice car, I'd love to get down and dirty with a mop and polish on it! There was a Granada 3.0 L Estate at Beaulieu Motormart, it was a ex hearse.

Today then, is a happy good day then! The granny works! I installed a new distributor, as had been advised that this was the reason for it not starting.Put it in, lovely jubbly, but still no go.Ajusted it all I could, but eventually after a week or so, had to admit defeat, and take it to the garage. but now, after being properly timed up etc, it works!!Rushed to the garage, and drove it for the first time, and its GREAT!plus it sounds so so good.happy. only thing is that it has quite a noticable misfire, so I'm going to replace all plugs and leads, and pos the coil too.good idea?hopefully that'll sort it, because I want to take it to Ace Cafe and Ford Fair in Aug. ;D Only other thing to look at is the speedo etc have no lights.Anyway, ill stop waffling, Ill get some recent pics soon as. Also, loving the granny estate, mega rarity these days. And will def have a look at old school ford.

congrats on your granny it looks bloody good!don't you just love the way everyone looks at it.drove past the house of some banger racers today in it, they were all standing outside staring at it as i went up the road!in your dreams nobby's! anyway, ive got some new plugs which ill fit in a bit, hopefully helping/curing the misfire.then next on the sick list is; fuel gauge doesn't work all dashboard lights don't work(clock on centre console does though) off side h/lamp is rusty inside so rather dim! drivers door strap has snapped. that'll do for a minute, going to go play. any ideas on the above would be invited, and ill try for more pics in a bit. what running issues do you have by the way?

I do love my Granada and yours is most certainly a corker too...!!! I have never had so many people rubber neck to see an old motor before & I've had quite a fair few... The bloody banger racers make me ill knowing they've trashed so many Granada's (both Mk1's & Mk2's), I know they say they only trash 'wasted' ones but I'm sure many of the ones that die on an oval track could've been saved...!!! I don't know what my running issues are exactly but it feels like a mis-fire so I'm going to be checking the ignition system to see what it could be... It is very sporadic in its severity which only adds to the confusion...!!! Please keep us posted on your stunning Granada I would love to know more about the rozzer connection... It appears that 'ULA' is a North West London registration so you could focus your hunt on cop-shops around that district...
