Also, what's the crack with driving down there? I know there's a bias towards the east, whereas I'm over in the west (Hereford).

Plenty of room dude.

Convoy is up in the air yet as I am setting off earlyish Friday, I will start a midlands (east/west) convoy thread closer to the time then let people sort it out from there. I will put when we plan on setting off and if people wanna join I can add meet up points etc, just after last year we wanna get down there as soon as possible.

Do we want some stuff for the stand? I can probably manage a bbq, a gazebo type thing (No sides) and some chairs...

Rysz yeah that would be excellent in fact it would be good for the camping. Is your other half camping too?

Like last year I will be taking practically everything including the generator a it gave us the ability to have flood lit area and power for the stereo and phone charge.


Convoy time!!!!!

There is a afternoon convoy (northern lot) that should pass the midlands in the early afternoon so if this sounds good check the thread.

However last year I felt we arrived later than we should so I am going to say let's have another convoy setting off in the morning of Friday, this gives 2 benefits

1 we get down there with more of Friday to play with.
2 hopefully get a better spot on the campsite.


I was planning on setting off at about 10/11am ish from Nottingham heading m1, a42,m42, m5. How does this sound, I can plan in as many stops or as few stops as people require.

Let me know your thoughts

Early leaving suits me great!

Just so you all know, the service stations in order are:

Trowell (M1) Near Nottingham,
Tamworth (A42/M42) Halfway down,
Hopwood Park (M42) Just before the M5,
Strensham (M5) - next to M50 South Wales junction,
Michael Wood (M5) (Near Bristol).

Also, be aware of the cameras on the road from Bristol to Sparkford, there are about 5 or so and often have film in so be careful!

There is a Tesco in Shepton Mallet for those who need supplies and IIRC, there is a McDonalds just past the museum on the roundabout with the A303. Yeovil has a huge Tesco about 15 mins on from Sparkford as well!

Castle Cary (We drive through here after Shepton) has a Co-Op and chippy and IIRC a Chinese takeaway as well as some taverns - just don't chase the swans, the locals don't like that!

If anything goes hideously wrong with your motor and it cannot be recovered for a significant period of time, I have access to relatively secure parking about 4 miles away and if the worst happens, possibly access to tow car and trailer ;D

ive had to drop out of the show at the pod this weekend too.
need as much cash as i can lay my hands on, so the petrol money has been comendeered.
cars will be going up for sale shortly.
something new will be coming and I'm a couple of grand short of what I'm after.

You'ld better take me off the stand as the Anglia definately won't be ready as I've been let down on some parts and now the Rickmans clutch has gone so I'll probably be in the works van and you don't want the rusty pos anywhere near the stand.

Can i put my name down please, was with the mixed bag welsh midlands mix last year but just got me a merc again.

It may not make it onto show stand dependant on preger's mrs but want to get it in.

Planning on leaving friday nid day to cruise down in comfort.

Is this ok as i know it said somewhere about no post a certain age cars and i'm on an M reg but most definately not standard and may be modding on the weekend itself.
