I wired it up this afternoon using the (+) off the regulator/rectifier for the ignition and the (-) straight to earth. Ran fine but i'm not sure how well it'll do when the lights are ran off it.
I'm going to extend the exhaust and kick it up at the rear so i'll make some bolt in baffles to go just after the downpipe join.

it'l blow all the bulbs when you rev it up, you might get away with it if the bulbs are 12v and the system 6v, maybe. Possbily find a battery eliminator or build one yourself?

If the bulbs blow wouldn't the reg/rec be at fault? That should keep the voltage correct shouldn't it? Anyway, rear brake almost done.... I've moved the hub lever round 180 deg so it's operating the other way. Seems to work alright, i'll have a good look when i get the brakes apart. I'm going to make the torque rod on LH and RH threads so i can move the whole hub for easy brake adjusting. Over engineered but it'll keep people guessing.

Well this has been a funny old week. Spotted an identical CD200 on gumtree near me so had to go sneak a peak. Now the last thing I want is another one but I thought i'd make a daft offer and see what happened. This happened.... Pulled up at the guys house with my not interested face on and looked over the bike. Then he says "i've got some spares you can have with it, come and see." He shows me inside his shed which has one bike that has been stripped and boxes of cables and all sorts of engine spares. Made a mildly insulting offer which we haggled over and that was that. Spares.... The new bike is booked in for an MOT tomorrow. If it passes I might hang onto it for a bit but I am tempted to sell it. Bobber wise, i've made the rear brake pedal look reasonable and mounted a rear fender from a Raleigh Runabout. The seat needs to come up at least an inch which I will do when it's stripped. I'll be back soon with some MOT results.

Dude - do you know if the down pipes off a Benly 200 TA will fit on a benly 125? The engines look exactly the same, but I don't know about bore/seat/clamp diameters/sizes. Any clues? Mine are shot but I can't find any anywhere - but you can get 200 pipes on the bay, but for 60 odd quid......

MOT went really well. I was expecting a few advisories after 2 years off the road but didn't get any. Today has been the first day that i've not been out on it.
I'm not sure about exhaust sizes, i cant see Honda making different sizes as it'd confuse things during assembley maybe?

Got another week off this week so where better to spend my time than back in work. The welding/fabricating/interesting stuff is mostly over on the frame now so i've been doing the boring filling and primer work to make it look better. I hope to have it painted and back together for the hotrod drags this weekend Anyway, pics....

This is fantastic, just got a frame myself, think it is a road leagl pit bike frame, chassis number on headstock, I have a C90 engine in the garage so I'm either thinking a bobber or a small trike, both will have a suicide shift ;D
How do you stand with the rear light being offset to the nearside? I thought it would have to be on the offside to be safe, just asking I don't know the rules. I was thinking down the same lines a single rear fog light on a car.
Cheers,
Stu.

Cheers Stuey, I might go the suicide shift route myself yet as you tend to catch your foot on the floor when cornering as it's so low. I never even thought about safety when I mounted the rear light. I just thought it'd look better as it leans to the left when it's on the stand. The whole thing would stand out and people would keep walking into it if it were on the right. I might phone the MOT place as I'm not sure about having a black and silver plate on an 81 registered bike either. All the bits for the exhaust should be here today so I have everything now to finish it.
