Have you had any unofficial caravan club members locally...... They're very helpful in ensuring old fuel doesn't go off by re-purposing it in shiny 4x4's and transit vans with chrome bull bars. Perhaps some surplus claymore mines as a deterrent.

You mean with the cloned plates covering umpteen similar vehicles basically sharing one set of road tax and insurance? As for the likely culprits, it was the searching for the battery that was a slight cluette!

Thieving barstewards. Perhaps some of those 'wildlife' motion detection cameras might be worth looking at? Although there is a distinct possibility that you may end up with a rogues gallery of your own sheep unless carefully positioned... Fingers crossed for the secure storage...

We've got one in the loft after hearing scuttling up there, turns out there's a squirrel getting in and stealing our insulation, little blighter as a result of the railways cutting the trees back to oblivion, it was Β£80 or so but we've got it for cctv reasons in the garage, reasonably decent footage and image quality, batteries last 3-4 months too as it's not on all the time. Definitely recommend one.

Pity it wasn't still running on petrol, the consequential damage when they used it in a diesel could have given some karma.

Personally I would opt for a new fuel tank hidden under the bed somewhere with a secret remote filler via a locked flap - It's a lot of trouble to go though but I would retain the old fuel tank too has a dummy - just fill it with 5 gallons of raw sewage and let them suck on that to their hearts content

I had all my saws and hammers, ropes and straps etc stolen a few years back. They even took an old gallon water bottle I had a drop of mixed petrol in.... Worst was the chainsaw my dad had given me though. Bloody scumbags I hope karma bites them hard!!

just a small heads up. In the unlikely event they come back for more.....
I had a battery stolen out of an old ratty car in college...could not figure out why they would steal a crappy old battery!
well, they wanted the new one I would put in there 2 days later.
lesson learned. and then the big chain went around the grille and through the hood!
bastardos!

I'd rather have a cheap cap forced than my nice expensive security flap, that I've yet to fit, being destroyed. [/quote]
Lots of lorry men don't fit anti-syphon kit as it means the scum put a hole in the bottom of the tank instead. What diesel they can't take goes onto the floor, you are stuck with a hole in the tank. We can't win. It makes me really, really cross.

We can't win. It makes me really, really cross. Indeed. Gets my goat too, but itβs cheaper to lose a gallon or two of diesel than to replace a tank. My old employer used to drain the tanks of the vehicles that were going to be left unattended for any length of time.
