Essex Boys or Girls??

I am sure that there is probably a thread already here, but I have trawled through many pages with no joy. And that seems strange.

My question - Are there any meet ups in Essex? Apart from burning up and down the fronts of Clacton or Saafend? I'm probably a little too old for that now, and don't really drive the sort of cars that would be any good at it anymore!!

Just curious to see who else is in my area and if there are any meets.

I'm in Rayleigh (about 5 miles from Southend), not much in the way of meets it seems

Okay, you just don't know where to go There's loads... I'm always out and about in my bright orange Shove-it (Live in Hadleigh, work in Rayleigh).

First Monday of the month: VW meet at Dick Turpin, A127.
Every Monday: Classic Ford meet at A127 diner (first Monday of the month seems busier).
Every Wednesday: American Muscle & (Classic Cars) at Dick Turpin, A127.

Every night there's always a few cars cruising Southend seafront.

Saturday nights: Southend seafront (always packed when there's a big cruise on- hundreds of cars), if not Southend then Thurrock and Lakeside area is busy with drifters/a few J cars at the figure of 8 roundabout bit.

I'm usualy down southend -.- i get fed up of being the only oldish car down there!
but if anyones every up for a meet in the area or convoy down the seafront i'd deffinatly be up for it!

Hows a retro cruise/meet down Southend seafront on Saturday sound? I'll be at Dick Turpin pub on wednesday too if anyone fancies it...

i'm deffo on this mate, i can possibly get a few minis down there!
if not a weds night for passion for would be a laugh, usualy its full of J and fords competing, would be nice to get a load of retro in on it too

but sat night, sea front! yes, although i finish work at half 8 :/

Thanks for that, I will you know. I have a 1991 Nova Sola. It's a limited edition that Has a full length electric sunroof fitted. Great for sunny days. It's not lowered or modified and it still rocks the original 1200 engine. Not made for speed, just for enjoyment! Alright, I know it's not retro or even cool yet, but the time will come one day. Just keeping it with the OEM+ look.

I think it would be good to have an Essex meet some point soon.

Just typical, I'm sitting bored all evening and could have been out!....i'll need to check here more often
I'm starting nightshift Friday so cant make the Sat thing this week but will check here for any other meet ups ... I may feel like an old bloke at a disco though down Southend seafront....I was writting cars off down there 20 years ago when you could do 70mph in a Renault 5 Gordini Turbo through a 5 foot long plant pot and straight over the top of the roundabout ;D..ooops

Hey you and me both thought that (old bloke at a disco). I can remember leaving East London on a Friday night, last one to Southend got the food in! Drag racing up and down the front, before they put speedhumps in to slow everyone down. Guess I must of been going there about 20 years ago too.
