Hi guys,
I was a member quite some time ago. I put a few pics of my 1978 Reliant Scimitar up here on the site but unfortunately i've been off line for some time. However, I have started in earnest to actually get on with my project.
The idea was to create something mean and aggressive looking but smooth and sleek at the same time. Something that Reliant should have produced.
With that in mind, I contacted a very helpful chap by the name of Will Sparrow who sent me these bumpers, this is where the bodywork mods started.

As you can see the fron bumper indicator holes have been filled. The rad panel on a Scimitar is normally one solid piece of GRP. I cut it out, smoothed the bump out and made a rad panel from some aluminium and will be fitting the Jag stainless grille mesh behind it. The idea is to black chrome plate these items.
The main beams have been removed. The outer headlights will be Mk2 Golf smoked ones. The inner will be replaced by Land Rover NAS style clear indicators, again smoked to match the headlights. there will be more of the jag grille on the lower bumper apertures and of course the headlight surround will be smoothed and fitted to match the new indicators.
The back end has had similar treatment. The fog lamps have been filled. The rear tailgate lock has been cut out and smoothed, the rear wiper and washer have similarly been deleted and smoothed. Same goes for the electric aerial up front. The back end has been filled and built up so that the rdx led indicator.brake/tail lamps can be fitted near flush. There are two sets of these per side.

Oh, and the bonnet has had stainless louvered vents fitted although, these will be toned down with black chrome plating too.

This is it so far, i've just spent the past few days stripping down engine parts and buying lots of bits to detail the egnine too, so that should look pretty decent too.
interior is a bit nasty though. Well worn but typically 70's brown velour. After the bodywork and custom exhaust, that WILL have to be next!!
