Ever since driving this for all of 3 minutes the urge to own one of these has grown by the day, I don't think I've ever wanted to own a car so much ever. If you don't need load carrying ability or can run more than one car then you should get one. They're not practical but they are a hell of a lot of fun! Fancy a Bluebird? Seriously, its getting to the stage where I would be very surprised if I don't own one by Spring, every time I see one on the road I strain my neck to look at it. Plus the bloke across the road has an absolute minter than he keeps Garaged. I think it needs to be done.

Everyone should have an MX5 in their life The weather was really nice recently (for once) and the GF was off out with some mates so I decided to go for a drive to get some half decent shots of my car. I didn't even make it out of Bristol. It's amazing how many cool places you can find if you just look around......I never new most of these places were within a mile of my house (nothing special, but they seem suited the kind of mood I was in) More to come.

don't need more light fella. a flash would have killed that shot. tripod and long exposure time and if your feeling really oddball maybe a bit of light painting with a torch.
looking good. never a fan until recently of mx5's, now they are growing on me more and more.
happy days

Psssst... just noticed you've mis-spelled 'Mazda' in the thread title. LOL - I'm such a retard! I must have looked at it countless times and not even noticed. ;D Thanks for the comments guys - I think I'm gradually starting to get the hang of this car photography lark (Bryn is popping around my house this afternoon and I'll be bombarding him with Q's ) Mega news for the Dirtbag on the horizon. Expect an update on this after the weekend....

nice shots! My mate bought an MX5 in the UK last week and i had a drive in it monday. It was a J import one with powersteering, electric windows and aircon. This was actually the first car i've driven with powersteering that won't make you feel like steering a boat. Really nice driving car that was! I immediatly understood the whole MX5 thing

damn thee for seemingly finding loads of ace photo locations. 90% of the interesting industrial architecture near me has been demolished

Thomas,
I'm glad you got to drive one and see what the fuss is about. They are such fun cars to drive. I'm planning to come over to you sometime next year to try out that track. I think a few of the other A52 guys might come along too. You're more than welcome to have a drive of it around the track.
Mark,
Most of those locations aren't really 'locations' at all and you'd walk straight past most of them without a second glance. The little tunnel is maybe not quite the norm (it's a pedestrian foot[ath under the railway line but no barriers! I guess they thought it looked too tight for most cars??) but the rest are just the sort of locations you'll find in any town if you look with the right mindset. Honestly.
The final location though (which I'll post up in a minute) really is a bit special though. Call it a unique opportunity that I was cheeky enough to risk taking. I knew I'd never get the chance again, so I am glad I went ahead and did it. Photos to come in a bit.....

This one was the one I really wanted to get...but I guess it needs proper lighting, not just the light coming through from the other end of the tunnel. It came out a lot fuzzier than I'd have liked but then it was handheld in near pitch black: Thats a great shot considering its handheld. Not sure whether i am more jelous of your car or your photography skills ;D

Lovely pictures Bruce. I think my pick is that last one. Love the way everything leads your eye to the car. Real single point perspective.
