great fun car, i had one about 10 years ago, lowered, induction and exhaust and fitted with 175/50 13 tyres.
used to rev to 6 k in top with an indicated 120 mph.
would agree with most of the above.
avoid potholes though as the ride is harsh and the standard wheels are not light or really that strong!
(don't ask , it was the wife)

Cheers TerraRoot! Not sure I like the look of the cut and shut ARB tbh It looks far too stiff and I'm sure there's a much better way of doing it.

My rallying mate had one a few years ago when Enduro rally first started. The cage was from OMP and certainly improved the whole feel of the car, stiffing everything.
The only problem I remember him having was wheels: they are an odd size/offset and iirc only fit the Cinq, so there's not many after market options.

I agree adam, no other pics of better setups about the place tho.
the wheels are 4x98, so with some(not sure of the centre bore) spigot rings and wobble bolts your all set.

yep 4x98 I run a set of punto abarth wheels on mine 14" x 6J with 185/50 14 Yokos. got spacers off my Seicento I'm breaking 10mm front and 5mm rear to clear trailing arms and stuff. -15mm springs (tenner 2nd hand but never used off ebay) will go lower at some point when I can afford it. mine: pic courtesy of spiny.

1242cc SPI engine from a punto Bolts straight in just needs a 10mm spacer for between the exhaust manifold and Downpipe. Use a punto 75 Cam and TB on that as well. Supposedly makes it a completely different car and the extra Torque really helps.
I've seen one for sale locally and really really want to go and buy it.......but i'd have to sell the golf!! Or spend my Cortina fund on it!

My Dad used to drive one. He is 6ft5 with size 12 feet and built like a brick shithouse! He had no problem fitting in and driving it though. But he did look slightly strange

For bonus Adam points, get a limited edition Soleil model (with full length webasto style roof, different seat fabric and different wheel trims). Proceed to remove roof and weld in new, standard roof skin. Strip interior and add buckets/cage/etc. Swap to alloys.
Keep Soleil badge to annoy enthusiasts ;D

They are any good: had one back in the day when we could only afford one motor and the mrs wouldn't let me blow the 'newish car' budget on a Mini. Yes, not as fast as it feels, but the engine makes a lovely sweet noise at high revs. I presume all the praise also applies to Seicentos, but they don't look as cool, do they?

Been reading up on the Cinq's as I might be offered one soon, A few things I've read suggest they're prone to the head gasket going. At what point (milage wise) would this normally happen or is this something that rarely happens? Thanks.

The head gasket normally goes through neglect. People top up the rad with water but forget to put antifreeze in. The head gasket then gets damaged and rots away between the water ways resulting in a blown gasket. I'm also 6ft2 with size 10 feet and I have no problem driving the wife's Fiat chinq sporting, and yes they really are that much fun to drive. and this is are little toy.

Like most things then, some regular TLC & there shouldn't be too many problems. Thanks.
