In 2 minds of wether to preorder this, the screenshots and carlist look amazing, but I've just got a feeling it's gonna be a huge disappointment That said, my Xbox got the RROD the other night so I might buy this to keep me going until June, when I'll be driving that red ring of death thing is supposedly realy realy easy to fix... A mate of a mate just buys up xboxes on ebay with that problem, Fixes it and sells em on for double... Says it takes him about 5mins if that... Any idea how? Apparently it's to do with some conductive paste between a thing and another thing drying out? Sorry for going O/T people

Sorry for going O/T people theres this way... or my personal favorite... SEEMS to be the easiest method... But in all honesty. I think its just a case of the soldering coming appart on the chip under the heatsink. Changing the bolts for longer ones and putting rubber washers on is something ive heard mentioned a few times but don't quote me on that. As for trying to find out ill try get hold of my mate and see if he can ask him...

that looks pretty darn real to me, the only thing that makes me believe thats from GT5 is edges at the top and bottom of the bonnet look a little too fuzzy/lack sharpness.

I just went pre-ordered my copy, wife said she'd pick it up after she gets off work plus the store's on her way home ...and the place said they'd give me $5 back for Prologue too. Win. --Phil

I'll buy this when there are 50,000 pre-owned copies in Blockbuster for £5. I finished 1, 2 and 3, started getting a bit monotonous in 4. I agree about the amount of Japanese cars in there, there's no enough variety at all. The director on this game must have the easiest job in the world - makes cars, have them race on tracks realistically. Does anyone have the official car list? I've seen a lot of nonsense ones around.

started getting a bit monotonous in 4 You think? I've been playing it pretty frequently since it came out five years ago and I'm still not bored of it. ;D Interesting fact: In Gran Turismo (the original 1998 one), each car was made of 300 polygons and took a day to create. In Gran Turismo 4, each car was made of 4000 polygons and took a month. In GT5, each car takes six months and is made of half a million polygons.

Think they need to find a better way to make cars then, if it takes 6 months!! Surely a 3d scanner would have helped. 24hrs til I can collect my copy 36hrs til I can play it though

I've been told that you get an option to 'pre-install' the game in the PS3, which adds basic track mapping to your console's memory - it takes about an hour first time you put the disc in and you don't have to do it, but it'll make it quicker to load every time you play it subsequently.

Pre install is always best, espesh if it means I don't have to sit there bashing X waiting for the track to load lol.

In GT5, each car takes six months and is made of half a million polygons. It definitely wouldn't take 6 months to create a car, it only took less than a month to create each car with all the bodykits on Juiced 2.

I'm talking about the Sony programmers creating the game from scratch, rather than any kind of user interface.
With respect, I'd suggest that perhaps Juiced 2 doesn't quite have the level of mapping detail as GT5, and the presence or otherwise of bodykits is irrelevant when you're creating a shape from first principles.

GT5 uses a scanner, it's the same company that did the J2 models.

Fine, well, I'm just going on what I've read. So, three years of progress means nothing in the gaming world then...?

Have some real game footage. The driver is an enthusiast like you guys (he's even registered on here), though in the real world his driving skills and training are probably slightly above most of ours.
