I found out today from B8D(Si) when he swung by my work this afternoon that my Subaru Brat pickup has been put into the shortlist in Retro Cars magazine for car of the year 2010 & he promptly showed me the evidence in the form of this months issue of Retro Cars mag. I know from speaking to the writer of the 6 page feature(Andy Basoo) that there was a lot of interest generated in the magazine from the feature on my truck but I never ever thought i'd be in the position that my truck was good enough for the wicked feature it had done or this shortlist for car of the year!! To say i'm chuffed is an understatement & from looking at the other contenders in the running I don't think it will win,but who knows eh as it's all down to people voting for their favourite car of the year......... ;D

Its pretty much a rare sight to see a Brat on the roads as standard let alone a mental modified one. Its different, brilliant and thought provoking. Win win win in my books

Nice one Brat-Man! I had never seen one before being a member on RR, and I even think it was you that posted up the first picture I'd ever seen of one when Mrs MiniDan was after a pickup. Yours is indeed an ace car, and I really want one myself now. Thanks ;D

That brat is one car I would love to have a drive in .... Power to weight ratio must be something else.

Not with that attitude, you won't. C'mon, the Isabella's what, a weekend's work? Get your spanners out, I'll stick the kettle on.

Ah yes, the Retro Cars Magazine Car of the Year 2010 - better known as an excuse to fill 6 pages of the magazine with cars we've all seen before rather than actually going to the effort of bringing us something new. It's just plain lazy journalism and a dirt cheap way of filling the mag.

Or don't buy it then? I'm pretty sure there were pages other than those 6 in it with plenty of fresh metal!
Congrats on the short listing Brat Man, your truck is 100% of win and fully deserves it's place.

I am rather chuffed that you got in, it is never easy, and your car is subtle, yet has serious balls.
As for negativity..... sorry mate, another vote against your oppinions.
Sometimes just keeping schtum is a much better way of dealing with stuff.
Well done again, and lets see if we can vote with our feet for this one.
