It's that time of year again... You are all invited to the (fourth) Retro-Rides Awards Night at the legendary Ace Cafe, London.  As usual expect an informal gathering of like-minded retro fans, a cobbled together prize giving, a hearty meal * and men crouching behind tripods in a car park brimming with frozen classic rides (it's Classic Car night). Awards will be at around 8:30, official start time is about 7:00 but people have been known to arrive earlier. Location: The Ace Cafe Ace Corner North Circular Road London NW10 7UD See you there! *You have to pay for that yourself, but it'll be very tasty! |

Alas this looks like the first Awards Night I'll be missing. A 225m round-trip with diesel at almost £6 a gallon means that even in the Van Of Doom I'm looking at £50 for a night out if I take food/hot drinks into consideration....all of which will have to come out of the New Car Fund as there sure as hell ain't anything left in the bank until I get paid on 15th Jan.....  |

I'll be there, but how/in what I don't know. I can't afford to tax the Benz (nor can I as i still have no V5) and the Z is holed up at my mum's gaff.
I will be there though. Worry not!
