Funny how modified minis are stolen to order here and shipped to Japan. So we must be doing something right

I remember it on a program a while ago that despite Japan making so many awesome cars, the mini was the most popular car over there.

I think the temptation over here is to overdo them, maybe because there are so many modified minis about- if any car benefits from a careful application of "less is more" it's the mini and to go by this thread the Japanese have that down to a fine art. Nice

There is nothing new on the mini scene, it's been done to death, whatevers done has been done before, the J minis are just the same ad everything else out there. As the last pic proves.

There doesn't need to be anything new, it's just a case of careful application of existing ideas that makes some of the cars so nice.
Technically, there's nothing really new on any scene that hasn't popped up somewhere else.
I have a Mini and there is nothing "scene" or otherwise about it, it's just a mini and it's perfect as is.
"Done to death" is a bit of a strong statement, the car is 53 years old, there has been time for modification.

Don't think it's a strong statement, just true, be honest there's nothing new on the mini scene, apart from the BMW abortion. Everything has been done, every engine fitted, every ride height, wheel combo, and body style/mod. I don't dislike the cars, just don't get them. Each to there own and that's fine, I can see and understand the work that go's into some of these cars, but again there's just nothing new.

Sent from my HTC Desire C using proboards there is a lot of mini's that look the same, and when i got mine i didn't want to go down the same route, so i made all the bits myself. and here it is
