Ha, I had to send Rysz up there to find it again after he blew the front lights out... Fecking thing. You would have thought that on a car that size it would be easy to find and get to... The 'security' device was not a great help either. Nor the decoy fuseboard... My god Akku, please can you touch up my hair, it's looking far too grey and I am only 31... Rysz

Don't like stretched tyres, very low profile tyres & I think a car CAN be too low. Perhaps I'm odd.

AK, I had a similar thing with the white one. Turned out the bulb holders were picky about which bulbs I put in as some have a very slightly different shape to the central connector dimple thing and just weren't touching. Must be down to Euro bulbs I guess.
Have you gassed this thing yet?

OK, Uncle Norm to the rescue with one spanky new bulb holder Suspiciously similar looking install pic and it works - w00t. Some suspension bits to look at next irritatingly the rear electric windows don't work. Neither from the front switches nor the ones on either rear door. Need to sort that too.

Props to Unkie Norm! ;D Glad it's fixed - at least we know where the fuse box is now too. Could it be a blown fuse causing windows not to work? n.b.: I'm frequently disappointed by this sort of optimism.

Could it be a blown fuse causing windows not to work? If it is, Akku, you can check it yourself! After the fuse, I would have the front switch off and see if there is power going to the circuit with a meter, If so, then the back switch and finally if there is power to both the switches it is time for the doorcard to come off to check the motor. Great progress though Akku and big up to Unkle Normski! Rysz.

Rysz, can you repeat than in English?
Benzboy - I would have thoght all the windows would be on the same fuze, but then we've been let down by that kind of assumption before on this car.

OK, this is what I started with. Looks nice in the photos but it has serious orange peel and some bad stone chips and blisters from trapped moisture from its current paint job. Started working on the little scabs One of those where every panel has something amiss. Might as well paint the whole car... Trusty McDusty a certain amount of "fun" was had getting the tape residue off from the rubbing strips. There were just painted over by the last guy but if you do that they flake and peel. Not nice. this photo is just to remind me how the trims go back on. I'm working on a budget so I rummage around the garage to see what I have "in stock" There was some lifting of the paint on the nose, looked like someone had caught it or bumped it. I did quite a bit of fettling before thinking to take the photos The runs are intentional. Its a special advanced technique. Still needs a touch of this and that. This is why its never "a quick blow over". I chase every last pin hole. I don't normally hold with this stuff but as it rained on my carefully wire bushed super-clean bits I thought I should. It was on the shelf so why not. Yes, brush painted. No reason why not. Its going to have the hell sanded out of it before its painted and those areas are were there has been surface rust so a bit of a thick primer won't harm... Protect against rain how you can... More later as progress permits.

last thing to say is we are on a tight budget. Looking to do the job for £75...
I got a whopping 3.5 litres of basecoat in a nice pearl blue off eBay for £9.99 +P&P I have about 7 litres of basecoat thinners here I have all the primers and such as seen on the photos left from other jobs I also have a couple of KG of filler all in half used tins LOL I bought 5 litres of clear for like £40 I have a 5 litre kit of 2K primer if I need it, again, another project that didn't happen I have plenty of sanding discs and paper, loads of boxes with a few left in I had to buy some spray putty today which I think was 7.99

OK basically today has been more sanding, more stopper/putty and more investigating those odd blebbs. OK, filler should never be used on paint but by the time I'd down sanding that back it won't be on the paint... Tidying upon the front fender the nose has had a lot of touches to try get it as nice as possible this was one of the worst ones, a small scab, this is why your mum told you not to pick your scabs LOL this is the file the filler fears This is the state of the orange peel. I'm taking the panels back here with P250 then following with P320 and P400. P180 where its roughest. Bonnet looks like a weather map or something. But is smooth now at least! Getting there...
