Not sure about this yet - I've just found out that I'm going to be made redundant in a few months' time, so going to have to start watching the pennies a bit. Plus the only suitable car I have at the moment is the Saab 900 T16S, and that's rather poorly at the moment - blown head gasket is the worst but far from the only issue with it. I could possibly bring the Alfa 166, but that's rather big and thirsty and not particularly quick. I'm hoping I'll be able to make it in something though - I quite fancy trying the track the other way round.

I'll only be there as Nigel's passenger on the Sunday but still be good to catch up. Failing that, make sure you pop along to The Angel on the Wednesday before...

Looking forward to taking the Camry round there again! Likely to be selling it afterwards, have specifically been keeping it long enough to do this event though.

Does anyone know what the deadline is for signing up for this? If I do come I probably won't be able to pay for it until after payday (15/3).

That's a very interesting question - effectively there hasn't been a deadline stated - however once the spaces are filled the door closes...... If I had to guess based on the fill up rate I'd say you'll be OK for 15th - but it would be a guess

After a bit of aggro with my login details, my passenger is fully booked. Can't wait now! Though it doesn't look like the E21 will be in attendance after all

From Marham Organisers
All
It has come to the attention of the team that the new website makes no provision for attendees to bring support vehicles onto the unit for the event without registering them and having to pay £60 for a vehicle that is not going out on track.
By “support vehicle” we are talking about cars/vans being used to carry fuel spares tyres etc when the car used on track is not being towed in on a trailer.
We obviously understand that this is not an ideal situation, therefore, should you wish to bring a support vehicle to the event, please contact the team at
admin AT @marhamtrackday DOT co DOT uk
Replace AT with @ and Dot with . and remove the spaces*
(Address written in above format so they don't get spammed to hell)
And we will be able to assess the requirement on a case by case basis and if the we are satisfied that there is a genuine need for the vehicle, register the car separately so you can bring it onto camp without having to pay for it.
There are some conditions to be met first though.
Please ensure that
1. Anyone coming to the event in the support vehicle must be already registered and paid as a driver/passenger
2. The car(s) that the vehicle is there to support must already be booked on and paid for, prior to us registering the support vehicle.
3. Under NO circumstances is the support vehicle to go on to the track. In the event of a breakdown, vehicles will be recovered by the RAF Marham track day team.
Can you post this update on the threads on your respective forums.
Regards
RAF Marham Track Day Team.

It's all pretty relaxed. There's a big pit area on tarmac/concrete, tools/fuel/wheels etc usually get emptied out behind where you find a spot for the day or on the grass. I took a tarp last time to put over them in case of rain (it didn't).
It's a windy place though, don't let anything blow away - the RAF people are very hot on litter etc (not good for the planes).
No facility to buy fuel on site, take whatever extra you might need with you or go off-site at lunchtime to buy more in Swaffham.
As a guide, my Camry usually does 400 miles out of a tank and after 150+ miles on track my light was coming on. That was pretty near the end of the day though. I aim to get more miles in this time and will take a jerry can with me.
I had no worries about leaving stuff in the pits, security-wise.
Have fun, I did last year on my first time and I'll be doing it again on Sunday.
Take it easy to start with, don't try to be Fangio on your first lap or two - build up confidence in the capabilities of your car and yourself. You won't annoy anyone by being in their way, the track is large enough they'll get past soon enough. Try and get rides with one or two of the more experienced attendees as well.
You'll be surprised at how much wear your tyres will suffer. Do take that into account, but it sounds like you're bringing some spares anyway.

We booked flights yesterday, so definitely coming along now. Not going to be in Norfolk in time for the Angel meet though, but figure most who go to that will be there Sunday anyway...

From the Marham Organisers "We have just finished uploading a selection of photos form the previous track days held at RAF Marham. The gallery can be found at the following link www.marhamtrackday.co.uk/gallery I should add that when George and I went through the thousands of images we have, we tried to chose ones where licence plates are not shown. 90% of people are not bothered by this, but the last thing we want to do is upset someone! If your car isn't featured in the gallery, this is most likely the reason why. So a top tip, in April, remove your plates before you go out on track and your pics might well appear in the gallery in the future! Besides, that'll save you 100g in weight at least! That said, If anyone sees a pic they want removing, please email me at admin AT marhamtrackday.co.uk (Change the AT for @) stating the reason why.
Please don't email asking for copies of pictures from the gallery, sadly we just don't have the time to do this. Many thanks and we look forward to hosting you once more in a few short weeks! RAF Marham Track Day Team" If people don't have pics they want from previous events most are in my photobucket account cos we've shared them already ;D

I've registered and paid but got no email as I didn't realise my mailbox was full. I cleared it and emailed them but have got no reply. I'll wait a couple more days though.
