P1000347 by Ka Ry, on Flickr Another from Ka Ry's Flickr, there's definitely flaws in the car as a whole, but as a concept it shows potential and as a bit of fun it wins for me. Putting a pointy nose on an E30 just for the earlier BMW sharknose look isn't a bad idea either. P1000345 by Ka Ry, on Flickr

Putting a pointy nose on an E30 just for the earlier BMW sharknose look isn't a bad idea either. I was thinking that too looking at the first pic - the nose extension has been done very well, especially how the lines flow neatly out from the lower part of the grille aperture.

Indeed, that car has real potential, i'd be willing to bet it's not finished yet but i'd love to see it progress from there onwards

NO! I've been thinking of doing that for a long time! The front end is really really cool, the rest seems kind of half arsed. Cool nonetheless.

Well, chrome bumper E30s were produced at the Dingolfing plant, so any mention of München is off the menu. ;D Putting a pointy nose on an E30 just for the earlier BMW sharknose look isn't a bad idea either. A bit like putting a Cossie whaletail on a boggo 1.6L Sierra. Er, no. Anyway, a sharknose is a sharknose is a sharknose. Accept no imitators.

I like that - always good to see styles crossing boundaries! I think the fact that earlier BMW's had a shark-nose has kind of taken something away from the concept. I might be looking at this the wrong way, but I'm thinking that the builder has extended the bonnet as a nod to the (Shakotan?) style along with the arches etc, rather than trying to build a sharknose e30. Maybe it was a bit of both! I dunno. Nice different idea in any case!

I think with a bit of refining that could really work. Thankyou for posting that up for us all to see

i always thought those shakotan etc. cars are a bit "funny" , not really my cup of tea, but that BMW looks rather cool... the design of the E30 itself, especially the early ones is very clean and probably one of the best BMW made ... so arches and that bonnet extension look great, it fits to the car, as the design is still a bit seventies .....

I keep seeing people praise the facelifted e30 when the older one just looks soo much better in every way! The fact that the facelift one is "better" in every single way is not a valid point in my book

That could look awesome with some finishing. It looks like it was chucked together for the show to me. Potential though definitley.

I can see what they've tried to achieve, but it misses the mark for me.
I might be wrong, but I think that bonnet is off an E28 5 series.

Could this be trailered down to Tennessee and finished? It would be epic, y'all.

i can see what they were aiming for, but at the mo theyve missed by a long way. as matt says, looks chucked together for a show.
drop it 4-5" and get some mega negs on the go especially on the back, then move the arches up 3" so they're closer to the wheels but obscure the original fronts, and theyd be onto a winner i think. the other aspects work well- i especially love the crazy J-spec number plate recess/surround.

Slightly better fitment/shave the arches, remove the grille and it's definitely roll-able. Add a 6ft exhaust and a ducktail spoiler and it's full of win.

Mods, would I also be permitted to post up my favorite modified BMW? Or is that a definite "No" I hear coming? ;D
