After much fettling, of which I was too busy to photograph, it's finished!! There was plenty to do, inner wing had splayed out at the top and the headlamp panel was very much stoved in. A quick adjustment to the door aswell but I don't believe that was part of the accident! Anyway, it's time to do the good stuff, I'll be on the look out for some wheels once I have the funds together. ![](http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g181/blackbelt1990/Metrooo/EB29172D-EE13-4E70-8C96-27CAD4AE7394.jpg) ![](http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g181/blackbelt1990/Metrooo/C1C90C34-C4AB-4256-A535-BEC5EF0342EA.jpg)

Eh? But they'll be going, they won't put the cost up for brand new cars and leave all the 2013-15 superminis at £0-£35 his point is, cars with zero VED now, would then start paying 320 quid (equivelant) a year VED, if it was put onto fuel... Yeah, I understand the point he was making now, which I didn't realise initially. What I was trying to say was, if they're getting rid of cheap VED for new cars, I'd doubt they'd then re-instate it for old ones!

Moving away from the question of finding a ducktail spoiler, why on earth would you write FINKLE IS EINHORN across the back of your car, which is surely a reference to Ace Ventura? But why? Because it's hillarious! So they pretty much don't exist then :/ ffs.

It's part of the next budget isn't it? All low VED cars will only remain low for the first few years and then they will go up to a different tarrif? It was obvious something would happen when everyone was trading in corsa's and clio's for aygo's and c1's. What happens for new car banding is irrelevant here, we're talking about people who have already bought vehicles purely on the fact they attract a low/nil VED band. They'll be up in arms about having to pay significantly more if the tax is put on the price of fuel. Eh? But they'll be going, they won't put the cost up for brand new cars and leave all the 2013-15 superminis at £0-£35

£0 tax cars will be disappearing soon anyway, they'll only be allowed to pay £0 for the first year or two. What about £20/30 per year VED cars? There's a lot of them. It's part of the next budget isn't it? All low VED cars will only remain low for the first few years and then they will go up to a different tarrif? It was obvious something would happen when everyone was trading in corsa's and clio's for aygo's and c1's.

[/p] A significant problem in my eyes is the extensive use of aluminium and steel in the running gear with no thought to corrosion, its incredible how well some parts become fused together. An ABS sensor failed on mine too, of course it was held on with a tiny (M3 or 4) bolt into aluminium that was well corroded in and sheared off instantly, that was fun to drill out.
[/quote] I've had a snapped wheel stud on mine since June, I can't get the hub off to change it is its fused together, my only option is to buy a complete lower wishbone assembly from a breaker!

I have a V reg one, 3 litre petrol manual. Utterly appallingly non durable. At 69k it had a failed heater valve, all except drivers door mechs, all 4 droplinks, bottom balljoints (very difficult job) front wheelbearings, rear control arm, expansion bottle etc etc, cant remember it all. 2 1/2 years later at 98k and its had 5 window mech failures (the sea of cheap Chinese repair kits says a lot about demand) plastic parts crumble. The heating is haywire again (only does hot)rattly engine (been like that all the time), common vvt issue, rev it up to free it off with oil pressure and the noise goes. Outside temp has always been 10 degrees, rear suspension is shot at every one of the many joints and will never be worth repairing, plenty of rust, countless other faults. It does average 27mpg long term though. I wouldn't really recommend an early one, apparently they made a lot of improvements in 2002 due to them being terrible! I think the best use for a 3 litre manual is a V6 ford based engine and box donor for something like a Scimitar. Avoid early ones like the plague, my grandad has a 1999 one and it has all the issues you've mentioned above. It's the main reason I went for a 2005 one.

Evening/Morning all! Does anyone know where I might be able to get a spoiler like the one on this Fester, for my Metro? eBay brings up a lot of car specific ones, all of which are saloons! Cheers ![](http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g181/blackbelt1990/207BE943-738E-4875-9D26-51077AF61960.jpg)

With fuel prices dropping now is a prefect time for a petition to abolish VED all together and simply add an additional charge "at the pump" to cover. Doubt that would ever happen, imagine the uproar from people with £0 tax cars. £0 tax cars will be disappearing soon anyway, they'll only be allowed to pay £0 for the first year or two.

I wouldn't bother. I read somewhere that if you use a comparison site and a company on there doesn't quote you, technically you should tick that box. That would be most of us though?!

The risk to the insurer must now be hugely magnified on desirable stuff, yet it's still £90 a year or whatever to insure. It's maybe not 'right' but surely premiums will have to rise, which will impact demand, level out prices and therefore reduce the potential money to be made out of theft/breaking/ringing...? It's impacted Land Rovers where I live, they're a lot more expensive to insure than other 4x4's. This is the main reason why I think insurance companies wouldn't be bothered about stopping it, they can just increase premiums to make their money back.

It might be worth renting a dehumidifier Wouldnt you need to seal the garage though? That's what I'm thinking, there was a similar thread on here recently where someone said you need to make sure you aren't trying to de-humidify the world! Lol

Gas heaters produce moisture A lot of moisture... So I could be making it worse? Tbh I've only been in once a week recently. Something like a halogen heater would be better then?

Wasn't there a lotus cortina log book in the "eBay logbooks" thread recently? You're right, it was this guy - www.ebay.co.uk/usr/barfoottony?_trksid=p2047675.l2559So a Lotus Cortina ringing kit goes up for sale, and the following month a Lotus Cortina is swiped. Hmm ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) Argh, it doesn't show up in "completed items" now either. Did anyone get the reg?

Is it happening as the wood and blockwork of the garage is drying out under the tarp, is the tarp keeping the moisture in? I'm not too sure, the original roof is thick felt with a ton of gravel on so I don't think it was breathable before, it just leaked! lol

Is there vents in the block walls? Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards Yepp, there's two in each wall and the a couple in the timber sides of the roof aswell. I'm thinking the solution might be to add more?

I've recently moved to a house with a breeze block garage. When I moved in, the roof was leaking badly so I put a plastic sheet over the whole lot. This kept the rain out and the roof timbers have almost dried out.
I went in this evening however and everything is covered in condensation, starting the car resulted in instant steam from the exhaust manifold. Even my poor calor gas fire was too wet to light without a match!
So my question is, I will be moving my mini into here soon and the condensation is less than ideal. The garage has a fair few air bricks already so how can I reduce the levels of condensation? Can I eliminate them? I'd rather have a real fix than just leave piles of cat litter or rice around! Do I need to bosh some more vents in?
Thanks!
