Additional Information:
It is absolutely killing me to do this, but needs must unfortunately and the coolest car I’ve ever owned has to go to a new owner. I’d dearly love to keep it, but personal circumstances mean I’ll have to let this one go until finances improve.
This has been previously owned by two moderators of the BMW5.co.uk forum, and by all accounts has been very well looked after. I have a folder full of receipts and invoices totalling in the thousands on parts and servicing over the past few years.
It’s a 528i manual, in BMW diamantschwartz metallic, with oxblood leather interior. At some point in the mid 2000s it‘s had a full re-spray in the original colour and an M535i body kit fitted. The wheels are 17x8.5 and 17x10J Hamann Racing HM1s, one of only 2 sets I know of in the country. They are a fantastic period set of wheels, and in my opinion they make the car. It’s got a limited slip differential, front and rear strut braces, and a centre back custom powerflow exhaust, which sounds bloody brilliant, but not too intrusive or boomy at motorway speeds. I’ve recently replaced the boot seal and re-sealed the rear lights as the boot started to let in water, but there is no rot in the boot floor at all. I’ve had a thorough investigate underneath and can’t find any rust or evidence of repairs on the sills or floor, and it’s been fully waxoyled too. It’s never let me down, gets up to temperature and sits at half way on the dial. I’ve owned it since last summer, and have just put it back on the road after being kept off the salty roads over winter.
As with any old car there are a few niggles, but I want to be 100% honest with anyone interested:
It has a slight blow from the exhaust, I think it’s where the standard system joins the stainless rear section, but I’ve not had chance to investigate.
There are a couple of 50p sized bubbles in the paint on the sunroof, these have not broken the paint and the sunroof is 100% watertight. A new sunroof panel is £40-50 from BMW.
There is a dent in the o/s/r door, where someone has put their bum against it to shut it, a trolley ding in the driver’s door, and the nearside doors have been keyed below the rub strip. These were all present when I bought the car, and do not detract from it at all.
Price wise I’m looking for offers around £1750.
I won’t be selling the wheels separately, they go with the car. Any questions, feel free to drop me a PM or an email.
Cheers
Tom
