Thats just one of the random questions I asked the other weekend whilst at Brooklands. SWMBO had bought me a day with professional automotive snapper Jason Dodds, me along with a small group had unrestricted access to the whole museum site with a selection of classics to pose and play with. I took hundreds of shots, got loads of advice and had a brilliant day. At shows its often very difficult to get clear shots and have the time to compose and set the camera correctly (even less time with the family in tow), so it was the perfect day to practise. I even took the Beetle along as one of the models. Take one kit car and a bomb! The answer to the thread title was yes. Nice and simple suited the Bug A few Brits in a traditional setting. ;D

That Gordon Keeble is a handsome thing. Have you got details on the courses you could share with us? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would be interested in brushing up photography skills on something like this. Certainly more interesting a location than you might normally get.

Heres a link to his blog, I'm the youngest member of the group in the green t-shirt at the front!. They aren't cheap at £120, but you get free access to the museum and lunch thrown in, he kind of left us too it, drifting from person to person checking photos, asking if we were happy. He answered loads of questions on technique and settings as well as help with composition. The whole group worked together really well to line up the cars at each location, making us think what shots we wanted to achieve ;D

Quite possibly, a close up I have of one rim has J MAGNA on a couple of raised tabs. The GKs I've seen in the past were running Dunlop Steels

I'd seen some publicity for that so interesting to hear feedback. Looks like a good day though I think a bit of theory/lecture time might have been a good thing? It sounds like everyone was expected to have a degree of experience? If you had to steady yourself on the banking you weren't going fast enough

I was hoping for more theory, but he was happy to answer questions all day and the few tips I picked up did help me a lot. I'm still looking to do a proper course at some point to get the basics sorted. The interesting thing was a few of the other snappers had the basics sorted and were getting their settings spot on....they just didn't know what to photograph!
Jason is always looking for different and interesting cars to use on the courses. A friend of mine with the Union Jack beach buggy is supplying it for the next course, if you're interested let me know and I'll put you in contact ;D

We weren't allowed to use excessive speed on the banking, just enough to manoeuvre for the shots
