Offered for auction is a straight-6 engine as fitted to the Rover SD1. From memory my father thinks this is a 2300cc engine (as opposed to a 2600) although we are not overly familiar with these units so can't say for certain. This particular engine came from a customer's accident-damaged SD1, and has been dry stored for the past 20-odd yrs since the car was broken.
The engine is complete with inlet and exhaust manifolds, SU carbs, airbox, flywheel, clutch, viscous fan, power steering pump and starter motor; the distributor is present but the rotor arm, cap and leads are not. Given the size, weight and location of the engine I have not tried turning it over however it ran perfectly before it was removed and another engine that has been stored in the same place has suffered no seizing issues.
Due to its size and weight this item is being offered for collection only.
