Also, as suggested by someone earlier in the thread, I got hold of a 3 spoke M Series steering wheel and fitted it. It might be my imagination but the steering does feel sharper somehow. Apologies for the rubbish photos. looks really good, though a tech2 would have been even better (and correct for the yr of car) Yeah as Mr Bolf says Lamin-x is the stuff. There are three levels of tint, I did the indicators the darkest and the headlamps medium 'strength'. The medium tint is completely legal as far as I know, and the indicators flash bright orange. Can always peel the stuff off if MOT get sniffy. how does it affect the headlights performance ? it looks good (really good actually) but i worry it will make the headlights a bit sh*t enjoying the thread, keep up the good work

xrmike - Yes, I took the car to a supposed BMW specialist and mentioned the wobble and asked them to check the bushes etc but they claim they are all OK. Frankly, I don't believe them. Message me how much you are after for the springs and I'll give it some thought. Cheers. be aware that alpina reps arent often made from good quality alloy and can often suffer from warping (caused by kerbs, speedhumps and potholes etc) and that can cause wobble. most garages are more likely to tell you something is broken or worn than actually tell you something is ok when its not - as they usually want your business

Bounty - Thanks for the comments!
I don't think the tech 2 will fit my year of car because it has an airbag in it, mine is the last of the non-airbag cars.
I haven't noticed any difference in the headlamp performance in all honesty. 99% of the time I'm driving on streetlit roads anyway so I guess it doesn't matter so much.
I take your point about the rims. Perhaps I should get them refurbed. There's always something isn't there?
I was probably being unfair about the garage! They have a very good reputation.

I don't think the tech 2 will fit my year of car because it has an airbag in it, mine is the last of the non-airbag cars. pretty sure the tech 2 doesnt have an airbag and yes the pic you just put up is a tech 2. refurb probably wont help if the wheel is bent (and that unfortunately often happens with the Alpina reps) you could try putting the fronts on the back and vice versa - that could help if it is a buckled wheel thats the problem

This morning I attached black and white bonnet and boot badges. It was very easy, and easy to swap back if needs be.

Thank you. I was expecting bolts right through the bonnet but they are just push fit. Surprised they don't get stolen more often by kids or the Beastie Boys.

Love this car. Only thing I would do different is put clear front indicators on. Other than that 100% win for me!

Just what you don't really want sticking in a month old tyre, a cross headed screw! I get punctures all the time, there are thousands of vans and lorries all spilling their contents and loose screws every time they hurtle over the millions of speed bumps. AR$E!

No they're not I'm afraid! I think I need new discs so I'll wait and get it all done at once.

The wheel wobble is 95% better after a simple measure of getting the tracking done. There was me imagining all kinds of terrible things. The braking judder is down to warped front discs so have ordered some Brembo Max vented discs and new pads.
