I prefer the earlier 'notchback' version.
As you say, Matt, JDM touches would work quite well on them.

I like 'em. The only thing wrong with them is the engines which GM put in them. That is fixable. There is or was a forum and website all about V8ing these and putting other engines in. The Northstar V8 is a total winner. Play with spring/damper/ARB rates and you have a pocket rocket/budget supercar.

yah, they were let down by an utterly curse word V6 with no performance. I adore them - and this is why: They are, as you mention, the MR2 for America. Or maybe the Celica. w/e.

Due to growing up in the US I am guilty of Fiero bashing. I have seen the error of my ways and I would like to apologise. Penance:

The 2.8 v6 is at least better than the 4 pot but neither is up to being a sports car engine really.

Just had a look on ebay, they're still mega cheap aren't they. Thought they'd have got some sort of following over here by now but obviously not.

I have a soft spot for these as well. Although there's a ruddy awful one that comes to the Metro Centre Meet.
As has been noted they're really cheap! I believe the 4.1 V8 from Front wheel drive Cadillacs fits relatively easily.

That 500 quid one in Scotland is tempting me to a disgusting level....

All this "I'm so tempted" talk yet no one has even asked or mentioned the most critical/important question that is usually on every RR'rs mind: what's the PCD??
5x100 in case you're wondering, so some rather lovely wheel choices out there ;D
That one in Scotland in tempting indeed and I reckon someone needs to buy one and make it look like one of the cars above (I like the first red one, but needs different wheels and more lows)

have a bit of a soft spot for these, after seeing one in a breakers yard in my town, prefer the notchback body style, as been said a usdm to a mk1 mr2, no idea what there like to drive though, and yeah i think a engien transplant would be necessary
still fairly cheap even now, even up here where theres soem kind of "tax" on interesting cars, there's a satin black one near me, not seen it lately though.
