If the 5 3/4" crystal ones are similar in quality to the ones I fitted to the MX5 (although they were 7" ones) then the difference compared to normal lights is literally night & day.
The lights on the MX5 were always a bit on the dim side. As soon as I fitted the crystal lights everything changed completely and I couldn't believe how a £25 set of light units could make such a difference.
I can't reccommend them enough...brilliant things that transform what you can see at night. One of the first things I bought when I got the new MX5...before even buying the coilovers and spoiler etc....

Missed this yesterday but, fwiw, got a set of these for my 1300 last year. The light output is great and for the price they're amazing after sealed beams but there are a couple of things to be aware of. Because the beam pattern is "sharper" than normal lights, alignment is pretty critical. If they're not spot-on you get slightly weird "spiky" effects where they hit the road. Also, not sure if they're the same ones, but the ones I got (also EBay) arrived with flat lenses. No real problem with that except it needed a (very slight) mod to the mounting bowls to get them to sit securely, and they change the look of the car from the side a little (at least on mine where the lights aren't shrouded at all). You may or may not like the new look
