Temp insurance for young / inexperienced drivers

Having used them earlier in the year for some temp towing cover, I seem to be on the marketing text list for tempcover.com . I've Just had a text through from them which is of no interest to me, but might be for some of the members here. I'm in no way connected with them but it seems worth passing on.

Apparently now they're offering short-term policies for drivers from 18 years old upwards (used to be 25 iirc) including provisional licence holders (used to be full licence for 2() years only). Could come in handy for test drives, collections and so on.

Sounds good but i got quoted £240 for just one day on my 998 riley elf! and they wouldnt quote me on a ferrari

Edit: just done a few qoutes £51 on a 1.2 fiesta for a day with a compulsery excess of £1000 could end in tears

Thats with clean license and 3 years driving experience too

still good that there atleast offering insurance to younger drivers and could still come in handy if you were stuck.

Ive done it a few times although i cant remember who with....

I Think the high excess is pretty standard practice on these types of insurance now... But ive not had a single accident yet and i now drive for a living too... Not planning on having one either ;D
