I've had a 95 ford escort for about 3 years... put it through an mot then left it out back for a about 6 weeks as i bought a focus with a bit more space etc. anyways i sold it yesterday! but the seller bought it back as it seemed to have developed a running problem. a mechanic friend came round today and discovered the big ends are nocking and when revving it hard blue smoke was pouring out... so looks like the end of the road for the escort sadly. Annoying that it seemed fine before i stopped using it although some smoke... but know its really had it. shame as its a nice look mk5 ( i think) Just thought id vent off a bit. Its gonna be heart breaking weighing that in.

What engine is it hun?
As might it be worth advertising it in the spares section on here, if the structure's good somebody might want to drop another lump from a rotten one into it :-)

Why did you take it back after selling it... any reason? or you know who bought it? however it looks really tidy for a mk5, engines are easy to get for them plus its a 3 door, so it should sell ok (id buy it if I lived anywhere near you..)

If you don't get a reply then no, so drop the price until you do. Bingo

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

I've got a 1.3 HCS lump in my shed, if I hadn't just booked a holiday I'd have this off you. Someone with a rotten RS2000 should be interested at £200 if the shells good

Its a 1.4, i think its quite clean really. Theres a bit of rust on the drivers sill, drivers rear arch and a bit in the boot. but its all solid no holes. The stuff in the boot is nothing apparently. its not gonna drop through anytime soon lol. people who have looked at it have comented on how tidy it is.
I've recently put a new exhaust bar the manifold and alternator on it too.
for £200 its yours

I've been led to beleive the 2 doors are fairly rare. Should sell at that price, fret not Wack it up on 'a ford site'* as well as here, I'm sure it will go. *Only one I use is Buysellcortina and prob not much use for your scort. Passionford?

Punt it out as a perfect candidate for a Cossie replica, new engine needed so ideal for someone to drop in a 1.6turbo or reshell a cossie/rs2000 into

Punt it out as a perfect candidate for a Cossie replica, new engine needed so ideal for someone to drop in a 1.6turbo or reshell a cossie/rs2000 into IIRC, isn't the Cossie mostly a Sierra underneath? Hence why most reps end up looking a bit odd when compared to a proper one.

What are the wheels and tyres like? Would you be interesting in doing a deal on some Ghia wheels, especially if you're going to break or scrap it?

I would put it on pasionford, but you have to pay to advertise and i've spent so much on this car i cant afford to spend anymore lol. Its on ebay atm at £100 with 11 people watching it, so you never know. I keep getting loads of people txting me about towing it for £100 for scrap which i hope it can do better than that. I was always hoping this one would be one of the old ones you see in a few years time. maybe still...
If i do end up breaking it myself I'll probably put the wheels up for sale, but as its looking the whole things selling as it is.
Hopefully i can make some money back to go towards my mk3 fun.
