OK, so I didn't make it to CARS this time but I've spent the last few days looking through the various galleries and photo threads. The community known as Retro Rides should be proud. What a great bunch of cars. So many styles, individual touches and most of all, absolute fantastic workmanship.
I'll have a suitable retro in time for next year's show but give a bloke a chance. The standard is so high already with half of you rolling what I would class as show winners from out of the garage. To name just a couple and not overlooking anyone's efforts. Respect to Slater, Racer, Datsfun and the rest of you.
Looking forward to 2007 already!

setting the benchmark yes but don't be put off, its all about diversity and the vibe, i went from the (general) car park, to retro rides stand in a neaty (loved-its important IMO) Sapph with new rims!
Be there and do Your thing, thats what is about!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Well I like your Saph too - can't remember the last time I saw one on the road. Especially nice on those wheels. None of it puts me off, just wish I'd been there this time round!

I couldn't make the show either this year and have to agree that from looking at the many photos posted up the standard of RR cars looks amazing! The turnout looked excellent and the stand was huge, a far cry from the first RCS show a few year back where I trundled down to the 'Pod in my Mk1 Polo... and had to request some assistance to push start it to go home when the alternator hadn't been charging the battery... Just shows how RR has gone from strength to strength - hopefully I'll be at the show next year in some suitable old tat! ;D

So thanks for coming to the first show!
