I need to take the Area 52 Ka down this Friday and need temporary cover for the day. I've spent hours trawling through websites, most of which seem to use tempcover.com quote system and therefore have a 10 year age limit. The only company I can find that will give me a quote are dayinsure.com and websites that use their quote system. However they're wanting £35 a day. I'm sure there must be cheaper companies out there. I've found a company called insuredaily.co.uk that should do it for just under £30, as they promise to match the price and give you an fiver but that seems a bit long winded. Matt

fairly certain I used tempcover.com when I day insured the bluebird to get it home - iirc it was about 25-30 quid just for the day, but in my case it was the best option

Normally about £25 to add a car to your policy, didnt make any diference in the past for 1 day or 14, mainly admin charges.

£35 doesn't seem like a lot of money to me, especially when you compare it to the cost of hiring a transporter or trailer to do the same job.

All done and insured.
I rang my three insurers. Direct Line....don't even go there! The woman "decided" she didn't want to quote because "my story didn't add up" (insuring a car to move it from Leeds to Bristol!!)
Footman James couldn't insure it under my MX5 policy becuase the Ka is too new, not a classic. But their modern dept. coulnd't insure it because it was too old. "Sorry sir, the car is in a bit of a limbo for us to deal with" - A lot nicer and more approachable than Direct Line 'can't be bothered' woman....but alas, they couldn't help!
Lifesure wanted £28, no fuss no drama...just a straight and very quick quote which I didn't think was bad at all but I then tried E-car
1 day insrance with E-car was £20.20 so I went with them. Policy all sorted and you're now insured to drive down on Friday dude.
PM me your email and I'll email you a copy of the policy so you've got it with you.
A good hour or so ringing around, but got there in the end. ;D
