Just thought i would start a quick thread about this, it's an 89 Eunos in silver previously red which has had its fair share of electrical gremlins.(still has some ) Bought from Will Carters' original advert retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=FSW&thread=106555&page=1Idea is to do a budget rebuild, matt paint job (original i know but i cant be arsed to do a full one) have a bit of fun with it. Pics will be put up in a few days, but it now has the wing off (big dent from a hit and run) ,the dash out to investigate some of the wiring (wiper motor fuse keeps frying itself - pics of the spaghetti wiring loom to follow), and the fitment some totally unsuitable BBS 15's from my E30 . Seeya soon Steve

Personally I wouldn't touch the loom until you've checked that the wiper relay and wiper motor are OK first (swapping over for known working ones)
The loom came fully intact from a perfect working '93 Eunos and wasn't cut/altered or adapted in any way. It was fitted exactly as factory and was working fine when the car went back to Will.
As part of the wiring change, all electrical items were changed too except for some of the parts like the pop-up headlights, fuel pump and wiper motor.
The car had been run reverse polarity which caused most of the electrical items to blow. The coil packs, alternator, ECU, ignition module, speedo clocks, blower motor etc....all died when the battery was connected up, so I changed all of these items (along with quite a few other bits)
In hindsight, maybe I should have changed the wiper motor too, but after the best part of 80 getting the new loom in it was one item I didn't think to change!
PM me your number and I can give you more details if you like. The wiring certainly shouldn't be 'spaghetti' unless someone has been messing with it since I fitted it. It was 100% factory except for removing the immobiliser unit which was on the steering column...but that side of things all worked fine when it was removed and shouldn't have any effect on the wipers.

No criticism intended Mystery Machine when i said "spaghetti" i meant a big tangle of wires,i fitted a new motor and wiper stalk which i saw working etc about half an hour before.3 blown 20 amp fuses later i am guessing something is up,the washer works ok but as soon as the wiper kicks in, "bang" the fuse blows.Anyhow the dash is out (basically i have fat hands that don't fit behind the dash), loom is part unwrapped and I have got the wiring diagram so I will slowly test it and rewrap it.I will drop you a pm with pics and my number see if anything looks odd.
Regards
Steve
