The seller also has a few other cars for sale like a 1990 Olds Cutlass, 1994 Ford Explorer and a 1989 Mitsy Pajero.

All the Eastern Bloc cars are yet to be UK registered, but the seller claims he has the log books from country of origin. Just thought someone on here might be interested? I certainly would be if I had the space. And the money.

well spotted - to be fair they are all pants cars but built like the proverbial brick @@@@ , I would have the Trabby though but £800 is still a bit steep! Think of the smoke trails!

I owned one for a year. It loved eating starter motors. I think the exhaust ran too close and kept cooking them.

I'm amazed this one still has the leading edges of the wings left. They are a mud trap for curse word thrown up from the front wheels and rot out quickly. Mine were made from cardboard and filler.

Theyve been on there a while now, they're not far from me and i'd happily buy one as a first car but they're all left hand drive.

Don't fall into the trap of thinking LHD is bad thing! It's not.

I've had five LHD cars and actually reckon they are nicer to drive than RHD. People will tell you it makes it a nightmare to overtake but I would have to disagree and actually reckon overtaking it safer and easier with a LHD. I did drive all my LHD cars fast, so this is very much something I know about.

Not that overtaking is an issue with any of the above though...you'll be too busy cruising them around.

If you've never driven LHD before I would reckon it takes no more than a few hours of driving to acclimatise (poss a whole day if you're a bit unsure)

My GF who was really anti-LHD currently drives a LHD Smart and now she wouldn't even consider ever going to a RHD one. So much so that if she ever decides to replace it with another Smart We'll be heading over to Europe to source a LHD one.

Basically don't rule them out. LHD is far better than the bad press it gets.

Plus, you seem so keen to get a car near you as one of your main criteria that these basically give you a range of choice all in one place, one stop.

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Plus....you can probably make money on them in the future if you want to export one back to the Eastern Bloc countries. These can fetch good money as export, especially in LHD, so could be a sound buy.

usually I find LHD means an extra insurance excess but no extra premium. YMMV but IME and all that TLA FTW

I'm watching something nearby on ebay but if i don't get that then those could be a player it seems!

IME LHD is only really an issue when you are queueing for a roundabout as you have to twist your head like 120 degrees and lean forward to see past the B pillar.

Or entering an NCP or similar where you need to get out of the car to operate the barrier.

But its no big deal. I drive LHD cars all the time
