my daily runner the clio developed overheating problem.
rac diagnosed water pump cos no water comimg through hoses.
after tow home and two days pricing parts i went back to basics.
Took off expansion tank to find the bottom inch clogged by what looked like a mushy bars leak rad type stuff you pour in to cure leaks.
With nothing to lose in the kitchen sink with expansion tank and put in oven cleaner and 5 litres washed through of industrial soap and 20 minutes flush of hot water.
once fully cleaned it was reassembly and test run.
car running at normal temp and over 200 pounds saved.
anyone had similar experience as problem would be common to any vehicle.
