So, I've got this road trip idea.
My dad's got a '74 Citroën DS. Look, it's pretty:
Now, my grandad died a few days ago. My old man's pretty cut up about it, as you might understand. We all are. So I've come up with a plan for a bit of father-son bonding, involving the DS. I reckon it'd be pretty awesome to go on a big triangular three-day road trip: day 1 would be from Lunaguet (where he lives, just north of Albi) to Grenoble; day 2 would be from Grenoble to Cannes down the legendary Route Napoléon; day 3 would be Cannes back home to Lunaguet.
Due to various financial and logistical issues (my wife being pregnant with our firstborn and due in March, for one [we haven't told anyone yet, keep it to yourselves]), this trip will probably be happening approximately this time next year. So we've got plenty of time.
Why post this thread? Well, I've got two questions for you:
1) Has anyone driven the Route Napoléon before? If so, please tell us the story.
2) Fancy posting up some pics of your favourite Citroën DSs? Go on, my grandad's just died, I could do with cheering up.
Some googled Route Napoléon photos...
Ta. Much love.
