Burton engine lots spent 1700 xflow

For sale my 1700 xflow engine has had rebore from a 1600 711 block best one the do new pistons and rods can be Sean coz no sump on the engine double vavle spring burton rocker cover bought to put in my mk1 fiesta but scraped car to bad to fix Open to good offers there is one on eBay going for £250 already need space all the engine needs is s sump there is one with it but it's got a hole in it rust

just what i need as i cant seem to get hold of a pinto but again too far away, good luck with the sale, it sounds a right bargain. Just a thought though is it for a fwd or a rwd

I have everything to make it front wheel drive) or rear wheel drive new clutch and the fly wheel to make it fit to a type 9 gearbox I also have a full set off twin 40s and manifold

If I'm not mistaken, and I'm sure Kee knows what he's on about, FWD and RWD xflow blocks are subtly different...

Correct Dave, on top of that the sump/pickup, front cover, crank, water pump and probably alternator brackets are different.
fiesta engines are same size but have some lugs cast in for the engine mount and the stuff i just mentioned are shorter.

it can be fit in fwd fitment but it's not as simple.

get this up on ebay it will fly off, pictures always help too

So, can I confirm, is what is for sale a FWD or RWD setup, I'm looking to replace the 1600 xflow in my MK1 Cortina that needs a rebuild, and was hoping this would be a straight drop in, as it were.

it's a rwd engine block, 711m blocks being the best of the crossflow blocks (apart from the superior fiesta blocks, naturally, which are 771m).
however I don't know what sump you need for the cortina.

Excellent, was hoping someone would say that...... already have the throttle peddle modified to the other side and the correct sump....
Just spoken to Mark on the phone, very nice guy, just need to come up with a price now....
