No. 26 / The Chalkboard Car MkII Hi guys, I have a few 'retro' cars, but this one is my daily hack. Its a Mk2 Uno, with the 1.7 non-turbo diesel engine. Painted in chalkboard paint, and usually decorated with chalk! Before anyone asks... its following the 'rat' style, and is ideal as I've had nice cars over the years, but get sick of somebody scratching/denting them. Turns more heads anyway! Recent work includes: -New water pump -New cambelt (@71k) -New aux drivebelt -New rear engine mount (engine fell out!) -2x new tyres -Brighter headlamp bulbs -New springs all round (was lowered, now back to standard height!) -New shocks all round -New front shock top-mounts -2x new front wishbones Currently fitting new front anti-roll bar bushes. Work lined up to do: -replace thermostat (stuck open) -fill o/s/r wheelarch -repaint matt black (currently looking a bit grey)

I wish I could get away with a car like that but I'd need to park it around the corner so it didn't bring the local property prices down ;D

Great stuff.... love chalk board paint....
My mate did that to his Kawasaki ZZR600 motorcycle. Was great fun to write on the bike.... He used to leave it at shows with a box of chalks and let the kids colour it in.

That IS the idea! lol Yeah I tend to just leave a box of chalk on it, was actually surprised how many people like it. I guess if you're open-minded you can see the funny side of it, the only real negative comments I've had is from chav's that are only interested in glueing plastic parts to underpowered cars, in an attempt to make them go quicker... ;D I did used to spend every Saturday polishing my car, at least with this one I don;t have to bother!

I like it. Anyone who criticises it in the flesh can feel free to improve it. Lowered is it?

Ignore the daft comment...its a fun idea. Every time it rains you can change the design. Flames one day, zebra stripes the next...looking forward to seeing how you progress
