what do you need to put in, will a grit blasting cabinate do? How big is the item needing blasted?

I was going to put the the radio surround from my eunos I have smoothed it (no filler),but now the finish is very smooth and shiny and it doesnt quite look right.i wanted to use it to give it a slightly less shiny appearance.Not sure if this will be too much for the plastic but i have a another if it ends in disaster.
