Looking sweet Dez, The rake is perfect. Level the car out and you're into classic reverse rake looks which is a complete fail IMHO. It's so easy to get a car low, it's a lot of work to get it really low and it's only someone who really knows what they are doing that can get the stance nailed. You clearly know what you're doing I'll try and get those pics for you over the weekend - send me a text this afternoon/tomorrow to remind me and it shall be done.

Don't normally like very low cars, but that looks great!.
Leave the rake I say, it'll look daft without it. Is only my opinion though and your car!!

Have you done anything about the fact the axle is off to one side yet?
Looking good - needs a tacky spoiler IMHO.

Great work as always Dez.
I've always kind of liked the rake thats needed to get the wheels sitting right in cars with a lower rear arch.

bruce- takes one to know one alan- not yet. I'm trying to get the front 100% before starting on the rear. its actually only out a tiny amount, about 3mm. the rear will get new shocks, limiter straps so i can run an under-axle exhaust system, an adjustbale panhard, and maybe stiffer springs. every one else- thanks!! ive decided I'm happy with the rake now. mostly as the tyre/arch interface is millimetre perfect front and rear- its exactly the same. heres a few random pics i forgot further up. the boxed A-arms- tricky to take a pic of one fitted, but you can just about see what going on. the finished stud.PCD conversion, minus the spacers- i got this back today too. how good a job did he make? youd never know its been repaired- next update will be the sump guard, and lots more pics of it looking generally amazing I'm really happy with how this is turning out!

oh ok then, heres a few now. I'm still loving the wheel/arch interface on the rear of this. notice the sump guard, and the front bumper yeah, lada bumpers are alloy, so very polishable. luckily I know a guy who does just that. bling bling indeed. the polished alloy/black rubber bumpstrip ties in so well with the wheels. might need to roll the arches at the front a bit too- and finally, it lurking in the workshop.

You don't need me to tell you that its looking good Dez, but it is ;D
You have a knack with cars to get them looking right without throwing a gob full of cash at them.

Looking absolutely spot on that. As Bruce says the rake is perfek - if you dropped the rear it would look too high at the front, stupid arch design. Same problem with bmw's. If you lower front and back equally it just looks like you have a load of heavy stuff in the boot.

I'm not into hardcore lowering, but even I have to admit that looks absolutely fantastic. GR8 work Dez!

Can´t help myself but to me it looks as if it is slightly lower on one side (left in the pics, but rhs on the car)? Tyre pressure ok? It has always been like this. Either the previous owner was too fat..., or the lowering on the back caused the axle to sit slightly to one side, making the car tilt ever so slightly.

thanks everyone its coming on isnt it? as for the slight unlevel-ness. ive been chasing it round the car, and its down to build quality as much as anything else. the bumper brackets have all had a bit of stick in the past, but ive got them back to about level and straight now. the bonnet/grill/valance/front wings aint exactly the greatest fit, more a 'best compromise' so everything fits. the suspension is as near as dammit level, its a couple of mil out but thats a weak drivers spring (as youd expect really). ile be doing summat about that soon though as ive said, the rear sus will get 'the works' once the front is finished, which will hopefully square/level things up a bit more, as i think theres the same issue with the rear springs. the rear should be a lot easier/quicker though. i am having tyre pressure issues as suggested though- ive not driven anywhere other than around the yard yet (due to exhaust clearance issues) so they're not fully seated, and two keep going down. as for pricing, i have thrown a bit of money at this, but not a fortune. its a lot more than anyone else in the uk has spent on a lada anyway!!
