As for the helper springs.... ....I am sure you can find another use for them Zip ties are awesome! ...which results in this: Double win!

But back to the suspension....coilovers give a lot more scope for getting the car sat how you want it.

Thanks Minidan, Beccasaurus and others above. Good advice and helping with my confusion. Mystery, I've seen those pics, in roughly that order before somewhere on here, thanks for bringing them to light again, helps with my confidence when I can see it done. Thats exactly the setup I've got, 14" steelies, just purchased some plastic trim rings and have the steelies center caps...with that drop it looks nice don't it!! Really cant wait for a beer after work, now seeing that picture!!! Cheers

That was RF Chris' (now known as 'The Pollitt') Golf. It's just dawned on me that we did that two years ago this very weekend! How times fly. Fond memories & all that! Talking of which, I'd better get ready to head down there and open up the doors for another fun filled weekend.
Enjoy your beer tonight.

I'd definately agree with the cheap coilover method. I've run them on numerous cars and never had any issues with them. The last Mk2 I drove on standard 14s and tyres had the front splitter touching the floor when wound down.

Should I be getting some dimensions off you guys re coilovers? Since I'd love to lower my Accord but it's not the sort of thing anyone has ever offered a coil-over kit for, with McPherson struts all round it should weigh in at 890-920kg so I assume pretty similar to a mk2 Golf? With same strut dia. for frt knuckle to clamp round.
