Kinda of following from the driving solo thread, thought id start one about, what was the first car you ever drove and how old where you? Mine was a bright yellow 197x honda civic auto, when I was 11 on a massive university car park in Oz, like this, but not in as good condition. Spent about 2 hours doing slow laps of the car park could have spent all day there lol. Did it several times while I was over there. The following year it was a 1980 Mazda 626 manual in gold, like this: Also had a quick go in my step dads freshly restored Austin A30, that wasnt so easy to drive lol Looked like this, do have a pic of that one somewhere, think it's on another pc though. So what did you guys start out in, with pics please ;D

Mine was a blue Morris Ital. Came in that bright blue that every BL product was painted in the late 70's. Not this colour, I'm damned if I can find a pic of one anywhere

mine was a MK2 Escort around a field when I was about 10. It was a banger-spec jobbie designed for extracting money from parents whos kids were between 10 and 17. I have no idea how it was legal. I got it into second then razzed it round at like 9000 rpm because I was scared of 3rd...

The first car I attempted to drive was a '81 Sierra in a New Forest car park. This was almost 10 years ago, would have been 16 at the time and I was too busy looking at what I was doing and not ahead that when the car lurched forward the owner of the car yanked the hand brake and that was the end of that. I got my provisional a few years ago but only started to learn last year, before I got lessons my second attempt was more successful. A Tigra, went about 10m in a straight line. And the car I got taught in was VW Golf MKV TDI.

I did the steering on my dad's Pontiac while he did the pedals when I was about 5. First proper drive was a white XR3i at Brands Hatch on a junior driving course when I was maybe 12 or 13. Then I took a Mini dirt track racing when I was 15/16 but quickly found it had no brakes and nearly had my first big smash! After that it was learning to drive, which was in my first car, a Ford 107E.

I can't remember which the first car I actually drove was, but I would've been about 16 at the time and it was mostly likely one of the following. Dad's Volvo 740 GL, it was white like this one but with a blue velourious interior My rotbox of a Ford Sierra Sapphire 1.6 L that had no tops to any of the doors and about 2" of filler in one rear wing. That car was never going to see the road, but it did teach me the basics of panel beating and paint. It was this colour, but on the stock steels and smoked like a coal furnace and nowhere near as nice looking. It was one of Charlies Cheapies finest and he must've seen me and my Dad coming, I still regret not getting the little Mazda 323 that was on the lot at the time. Only really drove up and down the drive in whatever car it was at the time, I wasn't allowed out on the public roads. For some reason, Dad didn't trust me...

Apparently, according to bro, the first car I drove may have been his 1.3 Orion, which I remember as being quite a comfortable thing probably because I'm Ford shaped or something. I do still quite like the old Onions too. I seem to recall it was like this one, but without the roof rack and spotlessly clean.
