John let Dean (Benzboy) and I take this out for a spin one damp evening at a Papplewick meet whilst giving me the opportunity to own this at an amazing price, I wish I had taken him up on it but a really good memory. Thanks John! Rysz.

friend traded the CRX (B452YRO) for the Celeste. the Celest has been used as a daily after the respray early this years but now is in storage for the winter. i also owned the CRX for a number of years and for only 1500cc it went like a little rocket. rest in peace John

Whenever I think of John, I always smile. Every time I saw him - right up until the last time, at Newark Autojumble before he went into hospital and he was suffering the effects of his cancer treatment - he was always cheerful, always had time to say hello and chat, and always took an interest in what I was doing with my cars. It just doesn't seem possible that I won't see him again, that he won't roll up to the next Limes meet in another retro he'd bought blind off eBay and was roping Russ into doing some work on. John was one of the most generous, friendly, enthusiastic and genuine people I've ever met and I will really miss him.

i never met john, only ever read his posts on here, but a good friend of mine, Dan now owns the celica. was chatting with him on thursday night. this months Retro cars has a feature on the Celica and the Datsun 100a. the mag came out on thursday, i read it, finished work and logged onto RR, and read that John had died. same day his old car was featured in the mag i have this picture of the celica which i saved to my hard drive a few years back, it was taken by john, i think there was some sorta pnoy express thing going on with a set of police lights and he had put them on the celica for a quick pick. looks spot i reckon. RIP matey

Seems a good time to put up a recent pic (last weekend) of john's old celica. Still going, not much has changed from how he did it. Just a few st182 "must haves." miss ya fella, wish you could have seen your work in the magazine thanks for the link, don't get on here often enough, only just seen it.
