Well done kiddo, I looked at the grille badge - oopsy.
Knowing the KLF and their flippant attitude to money (£1m nailed to plank of wood) they probly scrapped it right off. Shame.

Yeah, I had much love for this car back then. I also narrowly missed out on buying a burgundy 2 door version with the 390 motor in it about the same time. I wonder what happened to that car?

Always loved the Humber Pigs they did. Didn't Cauty also have a Saracen with some sound weapon on it? I read it could focus sound to a point a few miles away. He nailed some cows with it and got in bother and later took it to a hippy camp while the Police were evicting them. They called the army to take it off him. Urban myth?

Some determined googling found a klf faq from the 90's. "ford timelord" was bought by cauty in the late 80's for 300 quid and cost the pair the best part of 5 grand in 4 years to keep going. It suffered a cracked engine block after being shot at by a swedish farmer whilst klf were burning lp's in a field after failing to meet abba. Ford was used extensivly by the group for album covers and videos and is believed to have died in a celebrity banger race at wimbledon stadium in 1992.

He nailed some cows with it and got in bother and later took it to a hippy camp while the Police were evicting them. They called the army to take it off him. Urban myth? This is all i could find about it .... untitled (Cauty's Sound Weaponry) By ? (September 1996, Q Magazine) Farmers in Totnes, Devon claim their cattle were frightened by bizarre weapons tested by Jimmy Cauty from the scam-mongering K Foundation at his home. Neighbours Roy and Pat Tucker are convinced an ear-splitting noise created by two experimental military weapons owned by Cauty terrified their cattle late at night, causing a calf to be still-born the following day. Another neighbour descirbed the noise as "a didgeridoo gone mad" and "bad heavy rock multiplied by a million". The musician said he and friends had been testing two sonic weapons, designed in the '60s, which he'd purchased from the Ministry of Defence. The weapons systems are for disabling enemy troops on the battlefield and are mounted on Saracen armoured personnel carriers. The 25,000 watt devices are capable of generating sounds up to 135 decibels. Claiming he was firing some low level frequencies at a radio mast, Cauty - last heard of playing pyromaniacal silly buggers with £1 million in notes - conceded: "It is a shame about the cows. Sheep did not seem to be bothered by it at all but obviously we hit on a frequency cows object to. It was not a party and there were only about 10 people there. We were just demonstrating it because it is such an awesome piece of equipment. We are not really sure what it can do." Cauty insisted that warning flares were fired beforehand and the testing went on for just the 45 minutes of mind-altering volume. "I don't think we will do it again from here," he said, "but if I can persuade the military to let me do tests on their ranges on Dartmoor that would be ideal." I'm interested in building a sound weapon myself one day

The entire White Room film..... which is mostly just the Ford Timelord pimping around the world.
The KLF were awesome, both mentalists and visionaries.

Sorry to bump a very old thread, but me and some friends (one of whom is a huge KLF fan) have been researching the history of this car and trying to find out if it still exists anywhere.
Jimmy Cauty did indeed compete in a celebrity banger race at Wimbledon in 1992, but the car he raced was not the Galaxie - he was in a smaller Yank tank (possibly a Chevy Nova) that was painted in the livery of the "Timelord".
The Galaxie that paran0id mentions above was raced at Swaffham the previous year by Paul Bickers. You are correct that he had a connection to the video for 3AM Eternal - Paul owns Bickers Action, the UK's biggest stunt co-ordinators, and his camera tracking vehicles were used to make the video. At this point in its very hard life I doubt the Galaxie could move under its own steam, so after towing it around with his camera trucks to do the video, it's very likely that Paul took it off the group's hands and bangered it. I am currently trying to find photos or footage from the event to try and see if it was indeed the same car he raced.
However, it doesn't end there. The aforementioned friend who is a KLF fan has met Bill Drummond, and on asking him about the car Bill told him they had two of them! This seems to be supported as we have found some photos of a very rotten-looking Galaxie sat forlornly outside Jimmy Cauty's place in London, which were apparently taken in late 1992 - over a year after the car was supposedly raced at Swaffham.
Any further info or pics are much appreciated - for some reason something is telling me this car, or the remains of it, is still out there somewhere.

That is probably the car that Bill was referring to then. We do know that that LTD ended up with another group called Jesus Jones - coincidentally, one of them raced a banger on the same night that Jimmy Cauty did. I wonder if he raced the LTD?

Got sent this pic this morning - this was taken at Swaffham Raceway in June 1991. It looks like we've found the fate of the original car. (And please don't start kicking off about banger racers, having seen a lot more photos of the car while it was owned by the group it was falling to pieces and I doubt would have been restorable after it was finished with, plus there are several very nice replicas on the road.)
