Rab, You mention you spotted the red T on the way to MB Spares..is this a shop of some sort? If so could you let me know where it is? I'm trying to find someplace to buy bits for mine. Have a pic of it as payment: Dapper, Brock tried to bring in the Monza: this was at Hanging Rock a few years ago. I think it was one of the ones he imported. I read an article about them, and IIRC he ran in to problems because the Commodore was heavily modified from the Euro equivalent and it was pretty much impossible to bring the Monza up to the same spec. Nice to see that you two, like me, are amazed at the quantity and quality of retros on the roads here.

Nice one, thanks. Well have a great time in UK! We're over for 3 months as well. Going to travelling round though obviously!! I hope you've got deep pockets buddy. It's fookin expensive over here. Fuel is about the only you're going to be happy paying for. The exchange rate is murder for Brits coming down under nowadays. Pint of beer £6.20 for a start. Tube of Colgate around a fiver so get down to the 99p store & stock up. Thanks for the advice mate. Camper of some sort, side of the road camping and I'm a big fan of 99p stores oh, and I'm stopping drinking for a bit!! Might head off somewhere else if money starts to get tight!

Impressive bunch. So are we saying the floodgates are open for Aussie Holden & Fords. The longer I'm here the more I'm appreciating them. Not enough slammed 80's Commodores FWIW
Didn't think the fella in the garage would budge. Not much chance of a grin from him is there?
Think I'm going to up the quota of Yankee metal shown on this thread as well. Too many mint 'Stangs and Camaros & badass 60/70's barges to just let pass.

What about his old auto related signs in the garage though? Those fellas off American Pickers would go mental for some of that gear

Thanks Rab.
Funny you mention most W123s being owned by Italians/Greeks. I bought mine from an Italian. His other car was a Maserati and he got the Merc and it serviced by a place in Brunswick which was actually a Maserati specialist.
I met him there one day before I bought the car. It was a tiny dingy little place with 3 ramps, staffed by two Italians one of whom spoke zero English.
I was having a look about and spotted something red lurking in the corner. The big, non-English speaking bloke caught my eye, shrugged and said "Dino". From the outside you'd never guess the place looked after top quality cars.
By the way, if you want to see lots of nice Mercs and other European stuff the AOMC has their European show on at Flemington racecourse on the 29th of April. It is the Vic MB club concourse day. I'm thinking about taking the T - I even washed it today.
Cheers,
Doug

Dime a dozen to be honest, I think the owner is whack, it's "BT1", BT1 commodores are the "police option pack" equipped Holden Commodore cars. Some were undercovered (unmarked) others had the full police livery. Probably because the same numberplate with "BT1" has already been taken, he's used "BTI" instead. If you had of gone to Andy's Auto's 5 years ago, you would have gone nuts over the old stuff that was there. The new arseholedickface owners crushed the lot and started over again.

Funny you mention the r31 - they have a bit of a following in Australia as a budget drift car. The share a 3L straight six (Nissan rb30e) with the VL Commodore (model after the yellow BT1 further up the page). Some good photos of r31's in here forum.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?board=4.0
