I am doing my best to keep BigNut in business in these difficult times. Its not as mad a strategy as it may at first appear...
The VW is going, and I am replacing it with something I feel I would be better to concentrate on investing the time and effort in to make into a "perfect" daily driver.
See I was going to fit LPG and decent audio in the Passat and then, meh, just CBA, as I don't see it and me going the distance together.
So later today I take delivery of my new whip.
Sensible size, basic spec thing, manual box, RWD...
All I can say is "I am Thriftmaster"
(and yeah, if you Google that you mostly get Chevy truck stuff and its not that)

3.3 litre Thriftmaster six, manual box, its basically the same running gear as the 1979-1994 Fox Body Ford Mustang, the SN95 is broadly similar, so plenty of thoughts and options there...
It used to painted up as a NYPD police car and used in movies - believe it was in Deathwish 3 and Superman 4. Need to do some research to prove which ones it was in. Unhelpfully it had scripts with it and the seller either flogged them on eBay or binned them.

cool - is it the one with the inlet manifold cast as part of the head, with a little tiny single pot holley on it? matey ran one out of a fox with an auto on it in his 46 ford for a bit set of 14" slots with tyres for it? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) although the nascar rims would be ace EDIT - 4 stud or 5 stud? matey's fox donor was 4 stud

4 stud, same as the Mustang. The heavier weight foxes like the Lincoln LSC and some of the Thunderbirds were 5 stud.
I'm chasing up some suitable slots for it as we speak.

I've always wanted a Fairmont Estate in this shape. ![](http://omgpancakes.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/imperial.jpg?w=655&h=437) Oh and there's only one paintjob this can have. ![](http://www.dearbornflashback.com/tk_78fairmont_ps_glidden_indy78.JPG) ![](http://www.blackdragracers.8m.com/images/Bob_Glidden_1978_Pro%20Stock_Ford_Fairmont.jpg) I reckon a Pro Stock rep would be fairly easy. 15x4 centerlines on front, squeeze some 15x9s on the rear, scoop, paint. Done. Matt
