This afternoon I discovered that the keysafe in the barn I share with MantaPhil & ColonElk has been stolen - I'm really quite blasted broken off about it but that is of little consequence. I don't want to get into the why's & wherefore's of it all, but suffice to say we've made safe the cars and are 'dealing' with the situation. The immediate upshot is we will most likely be needing full locksets, ignition barrels & keys for the following list of cars. If anyone is able to help with anything fairly quick-sharp (like before the weekend) it'd be very much appreciated. Me:'85 Opel Manta GTE '92 Benz 190e '76 Mk2 Escort - Provis. sorted, thanks orion1600e Colon:Mk2 Calrlton (2of) - only 1 set needed actualy (WMD had the keys in the ignition, lol ;D) Vaux Senetor - sorted, thanks bstardchild Vaux Viva E Coupe VW LT35 Horsebox Phil:Manta GTE Monza GSE - Provis. sorted, thanks MonzaPhil Kadett D (Mk1 Astra) (Mark/Phil - please add detail/correct the above asap)

How easy are the cars to block in? Might be worth trawling scrappies to get locks for some of them and using them to block the rest in door to door so you can't get in them.

Done & done - as I said, the cars are safe. Believe this: if there was any risk, I'd be sleeping in one of them tonight.

Holy S*** Dude, sorry to hear that! I can't help with any locksets, but if I've got any bits around the unit that can be used to make your place more secure, I'll let you know. Keeping my fingers crossed that you don't have any more trouble....that's a real crappy thing to have happen.

Colon: Vaux Senetor Phil Monza GSE (Mark/Phil - please add detail/correct the above asap) I can probably help with both - I know I definatly have a complete lock set for a Senator The Monza one I think I have an ignition barrel and key so it's a (NON) start if someone did try and get it away once that is changed but sheesh that's not a job I fancy doing - quicker to change the column IMHO for one with an alternative lock and key

PS Andy Clears at Drive Vauxhall in Bury St Edmunds has some good contacts for aftermarket lock sets for early Vauxhalls at quite reasonable prices

That really sucks, what a massively annoying thing to have taken Good luck finding everything you need to get them secure again. I'll be back in Somerset this weekend, so if you need anything picking up and sticking in the post from Somerset/Dorset/Devon, let me know.

Hardcore: PM Welder on here, there is a chance that he might have a Manta lockset knocking about - or at least should be able to point you in the right direction.

Jesus, Andy/Colonelcolon/Phil Is that the keysafe I got from work for you? Did they just rip it off the wall? Maybe time to get a proper heavy duty safe.. I know it doesn't exactly help matters, but I'd be thankful that none of you have cars with fancy chip-in-key immobilisers. As ever, if there's anything I can do to help...

Andy -what a bummer. Know how it feels but nothing by way of help to offer other than sympathy. Park Elks lorry across the entrance.
See you next week (- I've dug one of those manifolds out.)
