Sorry for the vague title! I'm looking for a big, usable tow vehicle - more than likely a 4x4 although I'm open to suggestions. It needs to be insurable on a classic policy, although my insurers are quite flexible on what I can put on it - my 96 Golf GTI is considered a "modern classic", for example. It needs to have MOT and ideally tax aswell - no projects as I have enough of those! Budget is about a grand although the cheaper the better. I've got a Mk3 Golf GTi which could be included in a deal, although I don't mind keeping it as it's great! What do you have?

How about a 1.8 TD mondeo estate with 11 months+ MOT?
Cheers,

There's my Lexus LS400, but as it's not got a towbar and I can't find one cheap for it, it's probably not ideal. And I'm keeping my Disco and Chevy ;D

Thanks for all the replies! I should have said in my first post that it needs a pretty big towing capacity - ideally 2000kg, which rules out all but a few large cars. I think the Lexus can tow two tonnes but it's not really what I'm after!
Bruce, I looked at those Delicas and I've mulled over a trip to Scotch Land to get it! But I think after I've done the maths I could find something nearer for similar money once I've added in all the costs...

That's Alex Lizardking's old one I think! I don't know if I could get a Frontera onto a classic policy... I'd have to check.
